California Gov. Gavin Newsom took a victory lap on Tuesday after voters rejected an effort to recall him from the governor’s mansion, casting his win as a rejection of “the negativity that’s defined our politics in this country over the course of so many years.”
In remarks delivered in Sacramento minutes after he was declared the winner of the recall election, Newsom said that with his victory, Californians had voted to safeguard democracy, taking a swipe at his main Republican opponent, conservative radio host Larry Elder, and former President Donald Trump, who had raised baseless claims of fraud ahead of the Tuesday vote.
“Democracy is not football. You don’t throw it around,” Newsom said. “It’s more like an antique vase. You can drop it and smash it in a million different pieces. And that’s what we’re capable of doing if we don’t stand up and push back.”

The ballot box does indeed, no longer matter. Best stock up (if you can find it) if you haven't already. 'Nuff said.
It had to be about President Trump b/c Newsom had nothing else to run on.
He couldn't run on his own disastrous record.
Never, ever mentioned during the run-up to the recall - by the media or Harris or Biden - or by any other Democrat was all the "great things Newsom had done for the state."

There should never be fraud by mail in any election.
Sane Californians need to unass that crazy state. No doubt they would take valuable skills and tax dollars with them.
The only television ad I saw used unflattering close ups of Larry's face while he stuttered his policy goals.

Zapata said it best: “Better to die on your feet than live on your knees”. Admittedly, easy to say, but hard to do, especially when you have something to lose. I’m doing small acts of defiance where I can, figure anything helps. Also learning to be more self-sufficient with gardening and such. It’s not much, but helps psyche, just nice getting out of “ corporate” mindset. The system needs me, I don’t need it.
