People who received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine had “slightly higher” antibody levels than those who received the Pfizer, now formally called Comirnaty, shot, according to a new small study.
While both vaccines insert molecules called mRNA that teach our bodies how to produce coronavirus antibodies, the Moderna shot uses more than three times the amount of mRNA than the Pfizer vaccine. This, the University of Virginia School of Medicine researchers say, could explain their findings.
So, does that mean the Moderna vaccine offers better protection against COVID-19?
The study was published Sept. 2 in the journal JAMA.
“The thing that will be interesting is figuring out if measuring antibody levels ends up being a good marker of vaccine protection,” study co-author Dr. Jeffrey Wilson, an immunologist at the University of Virginia, said in a statement. “At the moment, we don’t know for sure.”
The team examined blood samples from 167 vaccinated university employees collected anywhere between one week to a month after their second doses; 79 received the Pfizer vaccine and 88 got the Moderna shot. Recipients were 42 years old, on average, and most (72%) were women.
Those who got the Moderna vaccine had more antibodies (about 69 micrograms per milliliter) in their blood than people who got the Pfizer shot (about 46 micrograms per milliliter) — regardless of age.

I don’t believe we’ve seen much of you in these parts before.
People have been following COVID and keeping abreast of things for oh, call it a year and a half now...daily.
There are people here who chime in who are PhDs, MDs and Pharmacists; Nurses; and lay people who have been reading medical articles for fun for decades.
And we’ve flamed into oblivion, any number of people who waltzed in as trolls, or working for the Pharmaceutical companies, who were going to correct the poor misguided Fox-news watchers. They got owned. Badly.
May I suggest, that before attempting to correct everyone with “Doctors” in your family, that you
a) quietly lurk on the threads for 2-3 weeks.
b) ask around, I’m sure a number of posters have made compendiums or quick start guides involving a number of highly-cited MDs/PhDs, or those who have significant clinical experience administering the jabs; as well as scientific/medical journal articles from the literature.
If you are coming in new (yes, I saw your web page, Trump /DeSantis, rah rah Southwest Virginia), you may have the mistaken impression that you’re up to speed compared to this thread.
Unless you are a regional or national authority on the coof in your own right, you’re not.
It’s not that we’re all MDs: but we bring stuff from many different sources and analyze and compare it as a group, beyond the ability of any one individual.
(As far as the hostility — that’s part of what happens when there have been regular waves of trolls and disruptors for months on end. Just lurk for a bit, till you get the feel of the place.)

While your body makes spike proteins that cross the blood brain barrier and settle in all the organs. Then your exposed to another cold or flu virus and the immune system attacks itself which will not end well.
Fauci has not talked about that has he?
I know of no one in the last 18 months that has had the flu or a cold. I know several that have had Covid. What happened to the good old fashioned colds and flu?
I and my best friend both got the J&J. Different times, different places. My doc tested me for antibodies....almost none he said. I told her to have her doc test her....almost none he said. What the heck?!?! Neither of us has had Covid though.

My point was that “covid” parties didn’t seem to work too well in the nursing homes.
But I do agree with you. We have been fearfully led down a path to the vax. The vax is not worthless it is very profitable for many, just not to the people who get it.
Covid parties might work for the youngers. I went to a chicken pox party when I was a kid. But if you hadn’t had the chicken pox as child and got it as an adult, it could be real bad.

The nursing homes were not “covid parties”. They were without informed consent and with a high risk of death. They were murder, put simply.
The “party” you mention from your childhood is exactly what I was referencing. A high survival rate and natural immunity would make further excuses to dehumanize education or risk these mRNA treatments on children unnecessary.
My original post, to which to responded, was my observation that such an approach was being massively influenced by creepy videos and stories coming out of China. The approach to natural immunity in the young and healthy was deliberately discouraged.
Military Lab created Covid works faster to infect you or kill you than the old fashioned natural virus of influenza.
The experimental mRNA based vaccine has been a big nothing burger in causing me adverse side effect, 6+ months after my 2nd jab. I may be over age 81, but the routine in video below, done daily keeps ALL RESPIRATORY diseases away from me. Daily exercise is the best thing ever for staying healthy, better than any prescription, better than any food groups, better than any vitamins, better than even ivermectin. Have not had a cold or flu or covid on pneumonia or sinus infection in 15 years. I strongly recommend all seniors to follow my example.

6+ months after the 2nd jab of Moderna, this was my exercise last evening for 23 minutes, followed by 10 minutes on weight machine working with 30 lb weight.

There is absolutely nothing else which could help me stay this healthy and energetic at age 81. I mow my suburban lawn every 3 days in hot Florida with a push mower without needing breaks. I very strongly recommend this type of exercise to all seniors. Anyone can do it by starting out easy.
I may have had it too in that timeframe. Slightly raised temp for a day, felt a little run down, runny nose, then coughed for two days. I took a little extra D3/C/Zinc and Elderberry extract and bounced back the next day.
One who would use whatever is available .....but the judgement of taking it or not is up to the individual.
Note that in Israel, the % of the population who is sick (though fully jabbed) exceeds the % of the population who is jabbed.
Across all age ranges up to age 80, refuting the strawman excuse that the correlation is due to disproportionate injections of the elderly who just happen to be more susceptible. (Note the raw counts in each age cohort.)
