The wife of a hospitalized and intubated COVID-19 patient cannot force UC West Chester Hospital to continue treating her husband with ivermectin, an anti-parasitic medication with no proven effectiveness against the novel coronavirus, a judge ruled Monday morning.
“While this court is sympathetic to the plaintiff and understands the idea of wanting to do anything to help her loved one, public policy should not and does not support allowing a physician to ‘try’ any type of treatment on human beings,” wrote Judge Michael Oster in his ruling.
Julie Smith, whose husband Jeff Smith has been hospitalized in intensive care since July 15, sought an injunction against UC West Chester Hospital after it refused to administer the medication despite a prescription from an outside doctor.
The doctor in question, Dr. Fred Wagshul, had not seen Smith in person at the time of the prescription, did not know Smith’s medical history and does not have privileges at West Chester Hospital.
But the prescription "gave me hope that there was something we could try," Julie Smith said. "I didn't want to just sit there and let him die."
A judge making treatment decisions for a seriously ill patient is as frightening as politicians micro-managing a war from their offices in DC.
Beam me up...
Pharma engages PR firms that have employees who surf the net. They infest sites and pretend to be “concerned citizens” and not paid shills. Not just Pharma does this.
That should be the way it goes, especially since the wife has a prescription to give ivermectin to the husband.
“....should not and does not support allowing a physician to ‘try’ any type of treatment on human beings,”
So why are we allowing experimental covid-19 vaccines?
We’re all Terri Schiavo now.
the STATE is primary. welcome to your communist paradise.
We have several right here on FR who pretend to be doctors. (we know this because they are careful to put "dr" or MD" in their screen names). Funny how their opinions are almost always wrong.
As Dr Zelenko has said, your 2 biggest risk factors in surviving covid are the doctor you choose, and the government you live under.
“... public policy should not and does not support allowing a physician to ‘try’ any type of treatment on human beings,” wrote Judge Michael Oster in his ruling.
Explain the “vaccines” your “honor”...
“We are certainly disappointed with the court’s decision today,” wrote Jonathan Davidson, one of Julie Smith’s attorneys, in an email on Monday. “I know this was a decision that Judge Oster did not take lightly. Fortunately, Mr. Smith was able to receive 14 days of treatment of Ivermectin, during which time his condition did improve. While he has likely received his last dose at UC West Chester hospital, we can only hope his condition continues to trend positively.”
Right. They’re called Moderna and Pfizer shareholders.
I figured they were plants of some sort.
I doubt if Judge Oster has the brainpower to describe the ingredients of a double bacon cheeseburger.
Hopefully he will stabilize enough to get him out of there to another hospital
Warning to anyone seeking treatment who chooses UC Westchester.
We are only because folks are willing to roll over and do the dying cockroach.
All you healthcare are belong to us!
There are quite a few Branch Covidians here, usually on Ivermectin threads.
IOWs the judge has decided to override the man's doctor and change the treatment protocol to "hope" instead of medication.
Judge Oster should be brought up on charges of practicing medicine without a license.
I was once involved with a non-profit group that was getting tons of internet trafficking attacking it. There were some 200 websites dedicated to this. After some investigation we discovered that all 200 sites were set up by 3 separate guys who were inventing phony identities. One of them was a homeless nut using a public library computer. And this was back in the early 2000s. It’s worse now with all the phony bot traffic.
He’s been there for a while. He received the drug for two weeks. It’s likely there’s no more ‘rona in him. My doctors figured all the ‘ronas in me were dead after 10 - 14 days.
The rest is just recovery (which took me a couple more weeks of hospitalization).
Wishing him well.
