Rebellion After Randolph Board of Education Cancels Columbus Day
American Thinker.com ^ | June 21, 2021 | Michael J. Czuchnicki

A New Jersey Board of Education in Randolph, N.J. removed Columbus Day from their school’s calendar and replaced it with “Indigenous Peoples Day.” They did so to be inclusive, and without publicizing that this change was being contemplated. Two minutes were given to the matter.

When word got out, a furor ensued among the community, including Italian-Americans and members of the Knights of Columbus. Many spoke is protest at the next BoE meeting. Here is one such protest.

“It’s been 529 years since Columbus found a new world. Now, you want to remove his memory, but are not exactly clear why. You reported acting because other places have done so. Really? What is clear is that in the half a millennia that since passed, we’ve lost much of what he did, what he looked like, or even where he’s buried.

We all know that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Social Media has given a huge megaphone to those who previously stood on soap boxes. They find others and together demand cancellation of whatever. Surrender incites the mob to ever more extreme demands. I speak today because someday, they will come for me.

Unfortunately, seeing Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln -- and more -- get attacked, it doesn’t surprise that Columbus is blamed for Native Americans dying over the next 400 years from diseases like Smallpox because they did not have natural immunity.

Pubic school teachers and school boards are fully leftist now.

UnAmerican. Divisive. Socialist/communist. Brainwashing our young children.

“...Pubic school teachers and school boards are fully leftist now....”

and that’s our (the voting public) fault!!!!

We need to carefully vet those who seek to serve all of these local offices. Encourage conservatives to run for these committees and commissions. We need fewer educators on the B of E, and more business people, farmers, house wives, factory workers, truck drivers, etc.

It’s not about Columbus or juneteenth. It’s about destroying the European/Christian/White foundations of this country and replacing them with something else.

The Grand Replacement.

They are seeking to destroy it all and will succeed if we let them.

None of this was ever really about ‘Confederates but about the West and what they deem ‘white’.

If you think about it, celebrating “Indigenous Peoples Day” is anti-immigrant xenophobia. It is an act that holds out native people as being somehow more important than non-natives.

The essence of life is to change and to move. If there was something so special about where we first came from, then we should all be trying to crawl back into the womb.

There is nothing special about being indigenous. “I was here first” gives you no claim to any lands. The only valid ongoing claim to land ownership comes from two things:

1. Sufficient productive use of the land so that everyone around you can adequately benefit from you being there (this productive use gets certified domestically through taxes and globally through trade).

2. Individually and collectively having the ability to defend your claim.

The indigenous people who once occupied this land failed on both of these counts. That is not worthy of celebration.

Christopher Columbus helped begin the development of this land into what it is today - the breadbasket of the world. Whatever flaws he may have had, that development has bettered the lives of countless numbers of people throughout the globe. That is worthy of celebration.

American Indians were the last to give up their slaves.

What exactly are these people celebrating?

An Italian declared crossing the Rubicon important.

Julius Caesar was not an Italian, he was a Roman and there is a big difference.

People on the Right must start getting elected to these positions. Quit sitting on the side-line and make a difference. That is exactly how the Left did it.

Let us continue to shred the fabric of our culture until we are grouped into tribes. Divide and conquer. Let us continue to pit group against group. Perhaps if we could find a theme to unite, other than a fabricated or real crisis, we would grow out of this madness. Diversity, as used today, is designed to divide.

The liberal left has been working on this for a long time.
During the '80s and working up to October 1992 it was
non-stop Columbus bashing by the press, and so when
October 12th, the 500th anniversary of the event, rolled
around, almost nothing happened.

Well now we have Juneteenth and you can bet that in one
way or another Columbus day, and Columbus will be
flushed down the memory hole. Does it need to be said
that Critical Race Theory is already on that case?

Oh! Have they dynamited Plymouth Rock yet?

Anyone here from Randolph or know why they really did this? Randolph and the Board are Red. This actually takes away the sounding board from the Left.

Why not just give Indians their own Indian holiday instead of taking away one from Columbus ?

Why not erect statues celebrating black individuals who have contributed instead of ripping down statues of whites?

Why not teach black history along side of white history instead of erasing our founding?

The answer is because it's not about 'adding' anything, it's all about erasing us and our history.

The situation is out-of-control because we have mindless idiots and cowards in positions of authority.
