Kevin McCarthy: 'Mike Pence is not a Traitor'

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy has defended Mike Pence after the former Vice President was booed and called a 'traitor' at a Faith & Freedom Coalition event in Orlando Friday.

McCarthy appeared on Fox News on Friday evening and defended Pence after he was heckled by the crowd at the 'Road to Majority'-themed event.

'It is great to be back with so many patriots. Dedicated to faith and freedom and the road to the majority,' Pence had said.

As he began thanking Ralph Reed, the head of the Faith & Freedom coalition, he was met with boos and people loudly shouting 'traitor!'

But speaking to Fox's Brian Kilmeade, McCarthy said: 'Mike Pence is not a traitor'.

What do you mean? Pence didn’t have to certify the electoral votes.

It means you also believe Algore didn't have to certify the electoral votes in 2001 and Joe Biden didn't have to certify the electoral votes in 2017. That the Vice President has the ability to overturn any Presidential election on a whim is probably the dumbest view of any Constitutional provision I have ever read.

Mike Pence is not a traitor but he is either a coward or a useful idiot. He lacked the judgment and skepticism to see the clear fraud that was being perpetrated by certifying the electors of several swing states. He also lacked the courage to stand up to the political mob and acknowledge the requests from the state legislators to do what they are doing now to audit the process and uncover the fraud.

As the true calamity that took place in states like GA, AZ, and PA come to light history will judge harshly people like Pence who didn’t defend the Republic when they were called to do their duty.
