I agree with you 1000%. These people are like the rats that carried Bubonic plague. They’re fleeing a cesspit of their own making. Day 1, they will be trying to make another cesspit just like the one they fled. Fortunately for me, I don’t think they will come here. Spoiled rotten little pansies wouldn’t be able to cut it here. Summer is looming and these people don’t have enough sense to seek shade. An animal has enough sense to seek shade, BUT these people DON’T!
Yes agree. Not in the least bit unusual in Santa Barbara and Montecito. It’s the temperate weather and ocean/mountains they are paying for in the end.
I stayed at a home for a couple of weeks in Redondo Beach a few years ago. The home didn’t have air conditioning since it was located near the beach..
You must have come along the Garden State Parkway or the NJ Turnpike.
I get fed up listening to people knocking Jersey.
A ‘rumpus room’’ is a playroom.
Why do you think there are so many HOA's popping up and why these people seem to naturally run for HOA president or HOA comittee member?
They all specifically and literally want the undisputed power to control your life to make THEM happy with your kissing their butts, they are modern day slave owner wannabees.. and arent afraid to use any means necessary to do it.
They were the a holes of the neighborhoods they left and are still aholes. It just takes a few months to find them out. They are the definition of d-bags. Karens and Kens. - self centered, nosy, busy bodies, never minding thier own business. And 1/2 the neighborhood isnt shy about walking by and asking you, "did you get approval to remove that bush? - We call them " the neighborhood patrol."
HOA naxis, ever met one who was a long time local ? dont get your panties in a wad, its Just my obsetvations.
Hoover AL my 2400 Sq ft house is about $2100/years with my homestead exemption.
How about illannoy...it has both a biting income tax AND outrageous real estate taxes.

Here is a long and very detailed article from the UK Daily Mail that is not behind a pay wall. I have no clue how it stacks up to the OP’s link because I can’t read behind the paywall at Epoch Times. The intro is reprinted below, with the link to the full article at bottom.
The blue state exodus: How Americans fled New York and California for Republican states of Arizona, Idaho and the Sun Belt to escape lockdowns and skyrocketing crime
People fled New York, Illinois and California for Texas, Idaho, Arizona and The Carolinas according to data from moving company North American Van Lines
The states of Florida, Texas, and Colorado also saw a greater influx of movers
Despite the pandemic the company claim people continued to move at rates that were comparable to 2019
The data showed that states that have much less densely populated areas were a big draw for people looking to relocate amid the COVID-19 pandemic
The move away from the likes of New York was driven, in part, by an increased fear of living in densely populated cities and rising crime amid the pandemic
So you don’t think it could happen? Look at Georgia. Yes,it was stolen last year but it’s still close. And why is it close? People from New York,New Jersey,Massachusetts, etc moving down there...and continuing to vote Rat.
Vermont?
Blame California,
Small minded people.
The Propaganda has
Seeped into Your Head.
They have twisted Your
Children and institutions
in the effort to turn
Us All into enemy’s
Against each other.
It’s working.
Just my experience....all the people I have met from California are diehard Conservative Republicans....again that’s my experience!!!
Except for time spent in the military I've lived my entire life within 30 miles of the New Hampshire border.New Hampshire has no sales tax...no income tax...house prices are about half what they are in Greater Boston (about 30 miles away).
Until about 20-30 years ago the state was solid Republican. But look at their Congressional delegation today! Why? Massachusetts residents moving a few miles up I-93 for lower taxes...lower house prices.
And they keep voting Rat
So Kalifornia may be to blame for AZ,NV and even TX...but Massachusetts is to blame for New New Hampshire.
Funny you say that. I’m talking to a plumber right now about changing out the last cast iron and steel drain pipes in my 1952 tract home. There are some pinhole leaks that have self-sealed, but a bigger failure is a possibility.
If you want to see where people are moving from and to, the best indicator is to look at the pricing for a u-haul truck to/from the different states. Last time I looked it was 3 times more expensive to rent a truck to Texas from California than one going the other way.
Exactly.
One of the things I find funny about them is they and their ilk showed up, all over the city to buy houses along the Beltline. When the city council discovered the buyers were rehire folks with money, they slammed an extra tax on them for the “privilege” of living on the Beltline.
Arizona, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina
the buyers were rehire folks with money
