I always find it amusing to see the “spend money like drunken sailor” quote. Drunken sailors spent their own money!
Plus if we had honest leaders, we would sue the pants off the Chinese for the Covid and they not only would lose any money we owe them now, but would owe us a lot more.

The US has been spending like drunken sailors for decades.
Bannon may have misspoke, but a little fact-checking could have clarified matters.
China owns $1.1t of Federal Debt. The total outstanding debt in April 2020 was about $25t and interest payments totaled $479bn. That means on a pro rata basis, the US govt pays China about $21bn in interest.
China's 2021 military budget is USD209bn though many think China's unfaked military outlays may be double that amount.
Thus, to be clear, the US federal interest payment to China covers 10% of their defense budget. That's not great, but it's not as sensational as the 100% intimation in GP's crafted syntax - The amount of money the US pays in interest payments alone on the debt pays for China’s military.
A simple email to Bannon could have clarified his intent, or some simple fact-checking could have revealed what I found out. But given GP's sloppy fact-checking etc that would likely be viewed as getting in the way of clicks.
It's almost as if GP is a cloaked lib outfit trying to make conservative look stupid.
I hope we all realize that the interest rate on Treasuries is in all probability less than the real inflation rate.
China is actually subsidizing the US Government. If this is the raod to destruction, lets have some more of it.
The Deplorables were cheated out of a country and then an entire election. Bannon is a big believer in the Fourth Turning, as am I. When the Fourth Turning happens (we’re not quite there yet) there will be a bill to pay and the Deplorables will be collecting it.
