Imagine being a female weightlifter so gifted and well-trained that you managed to beat out the best of the best in your country, only to make it to the 2020 Olympics and be forced to compete against a man.
This is the harsh reality that dozens of Olympians could soon be facing if one Laurel Hubbard makes the New Zealand team, as the transgender athlete who identifies as a woman inches closer to the Tokyo games.
Hubbard, who was born as a male and has competed as one, has been determined eligible to compete at the 32nd Olympiad after testing under the maximum threshold for testosterone required by the International Olympic Committee, France 24 reported.
In 2017, Hubbard’s first outing competing as a female in international competition saw the then-39-year-old smash unofficial national records for New Zealand at the Australian International in Melbourne, according to The New Zealand Herald.
In 2018, Hubbard became the first transgender athlete at the Commonwealth Games, something which the Australian Weightlifting Federation tried to prevent, to no avail.

a college basketball player does not play against grade school kids....an nba'er does not play against HS kids....
a 120 pounder does not wrestle against a heavyweight....

It’s not a boycott so much as a preference to not watch freak shows. If there was something interesting to watch in the Olympics I might give it a go but sadly the whole Olympic movement is now teetering on collapse.

Hubbard did not smash wommen’s weightlifting records, he smashed transvestite’s weightlifting record.

Li Wen Wen and Tatiana Kashirina are vastly superior athletes in this division — as they are to all the other competitors in this category.
And judging from the extremely liberal arm bend in his lockout position, I don’t think his lifts qualify as valid lifts.
This sideshow is just distracting and detracting from those who are truly deserving of attention as legitimately “freakish” athletic marvels. These two giants of their division, are technically the best the world has ever seen — making the bars look like their floating up — into a legitimate and incontrovertible lockout — that even the best of the men cannot duplicate.
Why are there women’s sports at all? They want equality? Let them compete directly with men. And the transvestites can compete too. May the best athlete win. Man, woman or it.

Olympics requires the correct gender identification-— medically and genetically. Those are the rules— since way back when Soviets had fe-— MALES competing.
If they change this there is no sense in having a “World” medal winner. We’ll have to see where it stops or... if it does.
