I would love a COVID-19 vaccine passport. After more than a year in full or partial quarantine, I’m so happy to be vaccinated I want to get the words “FULLY” and “VAXXED” tattooed on my butt and run naked through the streets. (Don’t worry, I won’t. America has suffered enough.)
Unfortunately … sorry, that’s a side effect of the Pfizer vaccine … unfortunately, vaccine pride is not as prevalent as it should be, and a sizable swath of the population prefers to poo-poo the one thing that can lead us out of a pandemic that has killed more than 550,000 Americans.

And on that point, we most definitely are not pulling together “as one people to a common goal.” A Monmouth University poll released April 14 found 43% of Republicans say they’re unlikely to get the vaccine. That contributes heavily to the 1 in 5 Americans overall who say they won’t get vaccinated.
....The hesitant-to-get-vaccinated are also up in arms over the idea of a vaccine passport, I guess because of “tyranny” or some other incorrect but scary sounding word... but the vaccine-wary could keep us from reaching herd immunity and increase the risk of weird, dangerous COVID-19 mutations. Without enough vaccinations, we can’t breathe easy and swim out of the undertow of stress that sucked us down more than a year ago.
The good news is I have a plan that should appeal to folks fearful of a vaccine or vaccine passports...So instead of providing vaccine passports to people who get the Pfizer or Moderna or Johnson & Johnson shots, let’s just issue mandatory “I’M SELFISH!” T-shirts to those who refuse.

Rex at Chicago Tribune ignores (insert shock and surprise): If vaccine protects those vaccinated then they have nothing to worry about, right? Unfortunately, Even if you are vaccinated, you can still get virus, and even if you are vaccinated you can still spread it if you get. Essentially the only person it is designed to protect is person receiving it (if assume no long term risks which is still TBD). The hope is that those who may have gotten very sick without the jab, won’t get very sick with it. From a nursing perspective I see this as a potential problem, those vaccinated are still spreading virus and thus variants will continue to emerge. And thus may pose more of a threat to those who are not vaccinated- oh the irony!! Where I work we talk to people every day who are fully vaccinated and sick with Covid. We should all have right to move freely, work freely and do both safely. And to choose what goes into our bodies. Some people, even some who are older or have risk factors, can’t get the vaccine for whatever reason. You don’t remove civil liberties.
What a bunch of VS (“Virtue Signaling “). He probably wears a double mask, a face shield, a gator, and goggles while climbing Mt Everest during the middle of winter without oxygen.

Having the vaccine wouldn’t prevent the mutation. Thanks for playing and using an old statement meant to shut down debate.

Mutations are not stopped by the vaccine, so that is a false statement meant to get you to take the killer shot. They want you dead and those shots do it.
I don't think that Republicans in Wyoming or Idaho have exactly the same risk profile as Blacks in New York or Newark.
The "unlikely" numbers may be similar but the risk profiles aren't.

Even at the ballgames....every other jumbotron ‘ad’ is about china flu protocols, or getting the sham shot.
