Rep. Steve Stivers (R-OH) announced Monday he will resign from Congress in May to lead the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, giving Republicans one less vote in the House and setting up the state’s red 15th District for a special election.

Stivers, who has served in Congress since 2010 and chaired the National Republican Congressional Committee during the 2018 midterms, announced his resignation with much anticipation for his future.

Quitting 4 months into the 2 year term you just won is a betrayal of the people who elected you. Either someone has dirt on him, or he is just a money grubbing scumbag.

Yes, it is/WAS an extremely red district. Steve Stivers is a solid conservative, I had some interaction with him, he and his staff were fantastic. I wish him the best.

Maybe he’s getting out because his polling is tanking. He’s also giving up running for retiring Sen. Rob Portman’s seat.

This is an opportunity to replace RINOs with MAGA candidates.

Agree completely. Considering he’s going to the Chamber of Commerce, I think this is a decision based entirely on greed....and contempt for the people who put him into office.

I just want to know, are we losing a RINO or gaining a friend?

Um, if he's leaving to go to the Chamber of Commerce, then he is a RINO.

Good Riddance!

Replace him with a conservative patriot!

If he’s going to the Chamber of Commerce, he’s no loss.

Ain’t that the truth.

If he’s going to the CoC, I think you’ve got your answer right there.

Looks like he’s got a relatively safe seat, usually winning by about 60%, last losing in his district in ‘08.

But I envision another unipartier to somehow replace him.

Sometimes the voters have to hold their noses to keep the Democrat out. Think Mitch McConnell for one example. Although with systemic fraud, it’s the vote counters who choose and not the voters.

Backstabbing RINO lining his own pockets by throwing Real Americans under the bus.

I remember that Dem - Mary Jo Kilroy. On CSPAN she came across as Mayberry’s Aunt Bea - without Aunt Bea’s massive intellect.

Lots of women are democrats.

An emotionally driven party with emoting voters...shocker.

IIRC, unmarried women are one of the Democrat's biggest constituencies. Certainly among blacks.

I don't know but the fact that he's heading to the Ohio Chamber of Commerce indicates that he's a friend of corporations and the open borders they love so much.
