City officials have released videos and other material showing what happened the night police fatally shot 13-year-old Adam Toledo.
Well spoken, some here are weak kneed apologists who love to see the wrong in everyone.

On another thread, they broke it down pretty cleanly - The kid had a gun, and ditched it behind the fence just as the cop was catching up to him (there are videos showing the gun behind the fence,) he then turns toward the cop with hands up, empty, and is shot. The cop knows instantly it was a bad shoot.
The more that comes out on this one the more it seems justified. Just tragic all around. And where were the parents? 13?
There was another one where this big fat cop arguing with a big fat woman let her get into her car, tasered her, and he still got shot and wounded before killing her.
This one seems at least a little more justified than the completely unjustified Potter case.
How about a discussion about his parents? What was a 13 year old doing out at 2:30 AM and at that with a 21 year old?
I'm afraid this one will go to a jury, and I know how I would decide, but I wouldn't trust any jury these days.
there’s a couple of frames at 2:04 - when played at 1/4 speed you can see something shiny in his right hand. His left hand is on the fence and he seems to make a throwing motion with the right hand. To me it looks like he had a gun, threw it behind the fence (there’s other videos where you see a gun behind the fence) and turned quickly to the officer. The cop fired as his now empty hands came up. This is all split second decision making.
The cop may have seen more clearly than the video shows. That said, the media is going to ride this hard.
I’ll judge it as a bad shoot after I get some combat experience, as for now , I see it as totally justified , punk kid lost the bluff ran around town shooting his gun and got what he had coming to him .

The apologists I see in this thread are trying to find any means whatsoever to defend the cop who, as someone notes in the thread, clearly recognized his bad shoot immediately. Give the cop credit for that and for immediately coming to aid the kid—note he was absolutely not concerned when he approached the fallen kid immediately after he shot him, no concern for a gun, for risk, whatever. He knew the kid was unarmed and shot in error, was trying to then help him.
The screen shot in post 51 looks like a semi-auto with the slide locked back, and the one seen behind the fence, also look like the slide is back, even though in both we can see only the general shape.
I'm guessing that's him throwing it in the screen shot at 51, and where it ended up in the other videos.

When considering:
1) that the kid was shot (and fell) in that exact location shown in that image
and
2) he still was armed (with the handgun being held in his right hand) at the instant the image was captured
and
3) at the instant of of the image he was rotating to his left (weapon still in hand) as he began turning around to face the pursuing officer
and
4) knowing where the gun ended up, it’s obvious that as he continued to rotate to his left he threw down the weapon and also it’s clear that the throw down happened while the kid’s hand would have been blocked from the cop’s view by the kid’s rotating body
and
5) after letting go of the weapon, the kid continued his rotation/turn while raising his hands - including the right hand which a split second prior held a handgun in view of the cop...and in that split second the cop reacted in fear of his life. It was a righteous shooting (except for Monday quarterbacks), IMHO.
If the cop said, "Drop it", it would be clear that the cop thought the kid was still armed.
If the kid had dumped the gun out of view of the cop, it would be reasonable for the cop to believe the kid was still armed.

No one has the full story and video analysis yet..but YOU..just like the Media so ready to look at a body cam video ONLINE NO LESS and in your PERSONAL opinion this is murder.

Thanks for the still. The video is pretty shaky and it all definitely happened very fast. I never make any final judgements in cases like this until we have all the facts in front of us, and we don’t right now. The initial impression, however, does not look good. It appears this kid turned around and raised his hands and was shot in the midst of that process.
I fully understand and appreciate that police officers need to make life and death decisions in the blink of an eye. I also fully appreciate that they want to go home at the end of the night to their families in one piece. 100% understand. However, every officer on the force has volunteered to be there. In fact, they’ve worked hard to be there. And while I think most - if not all - officers will understand the fear and adrenaline of a fleeing suspect turning around quickly, I don’t believe there’s a law or a policy in any state or any force in the US that says it’s allowable to open fire on someone who simply turns around while unarmed.
But again, I’m not passing any judgement about this particular officer’s actions until a full and complete investigation has been conducted and all the evidence is laid out so we all know what really happened.
...reverse it, with citizens like you, we don’t stand a chance with the police.
