You can’t protect people, who don’t want your protection, and you can’t help people, who don’t want to be helped.
It’s remarkable and telling how avoiding another 9/11 never involves “they don’t get to come here.” You know, the idea that overwhelming numbers of Americans have favored for 20 years. Our democracy just can’t quite seem to meet that desire of the people the way it can do things like “gay marriage” and Drag Queen Story Hour.
The thing is, you know damn well those troops aren’t leaving.
With satellites and drones, we really don’t need much of a presence. If we had a functional CIA we’d also have on the ground intelligence and we could manage it with these assets. We’re never going to change the culture for the better, and if you think we can, take a look at MN or Seattle.

A friend was over there during a Congressional visit with Graham being in the delegation. He was there as Senator Graham but wore his AF JAG uniform which probably violates some UCMJ regulation. My buddy was disgusted. Said it was obvious Graham just wanted to have folks salute him. Effin’ clown.

The answer on 9/12 was a complete travel and immigration ban with muslim nations of South Asia, Mid-east, and North Africa. If the terrorists can not enter the USA, then they can’t commit terrorism against us. Cheap, simple, and effective.
