The sergeant major of the Army commended the second lieutenant whose December traffic stop prompted a lawsuit and the firing of a Virginia police officer for remaining cool as a pair of cops pointed their weapons at him.
"Like many of you," Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston tweeted Monday, "I was concerned by the video of [2nd Lt. Caron] Nazario's traffic stop in December. He represented himself and our Army well through his calm, professional response to the situation -- I'm very proud of him."

This is bizarro world.
Do not comply with police, if you are military. Just like China CCP.
On him
We're well on our way to getting there. Just go to the near south side of Chicago and you'll see exactly what I mean.
Good lord, people - read between the lines. The SGM is trying to ‘head em off at the pass’.
SGM’s do NOT ‘speak’ to officers or officer issues, they ‘speak’ for and TO the enlisted ranks. This is trying to head off the counter-reaction from enlisted ranks to civilian police.
More than a few civilian police departments in areas near military posts are well known for targeting enlisted soldiers unfairly. Little town on east gate of Ft Riley has been notorious for decades for this.

Our enemies are rejoicing. China sees their few tens of millions to the Biden family as one of the best "investments" ever made.
Sorry, jackboot-licker, but it was harassment. They stopped him for not having his temporary tag, which they could have seen once he stopped. They could have easily told him to drive on once they saw it, but your cop hero had to show his authority and escalate nothing into getting his ass fired.
I agree. The one officer lost his bearing. BUT, the officer didn’t ‘act perfectly’ some 4+ minutes AFTER the driver refused to comply with directions.
If the guy would have just turned off the car and then exited the car as he was instructed to do for four minutes, the police would have looked at his paperwork, probably told him to put the temporary tag on the outside of the window because it’s not visible through the tint on the glass and then sent him on his way.
But, he couldn’t do any of that because he’s special and entitled.
So in Biden’s Army resisting a lawful order to exit one’s vehicle represents a “calm, professional response to the situation”. Good to know.
You sound like a moron.
They couldn’t see the tags due to the tint. Once they could see the tags they still had to process the stop.
Are you angling for a show on CNN?
“There was no tag visible on the car.”
Apparently there was a temporary tag in the back window.
L
Actually it wasn’t properly displayed. It was up front and not where it was supposed to be. And again, this has nothing to do with licking boots. This entire incident falls solely on the shoulders of Lt Moron.
Doesn’t matter that you hate cops.
As you stated, once they verified that he had a legit tag he would have been in his way.
You’ve obviously never done the job and are unaware of what folks will do to try and conceal criminal or negligent behavior. But of course, that doesn’t concern you until the consequences effect you or a family member. That’s cool.
Some folks act like the cop didn’t spend several minutes calmly giving clear and lawful commands before going nuts.
From your keyboard to God's monitor in Heaven.
Seems about right for an "Army of One".
Give it time. It’s still early.
I don't. I just think the cop in this instance escalated something when he didn't need to.
The Sergeant Major should have kept his nose out of it. A very bad precedent.
“ This will translate into Army SJWs questioning orders from their superiors eventually...maybe in battle.
Let’s see how proud the Sergeant Major is of them then...”

I’m strongly pro cop. But, it drives me nuts when a couple of $h!t for brains cops pulls stunts like this. Where do these idiots come from? 🤬
That's what I first thought, too. There is no such thing as "off the record" when you wear the uniform AND are speaking to the press.
Let me correct that... There's not such thing as "off the record" when you're speaking to the press.

The factor tint on these SUVS is surprisingly dark, something that I noticed myself when looking at them on a dealer lot earlier this year. You can easily see how a tag wouldn't be visible to police particularly at night even after the car had come to a stop.
