CHICAGO (WLS) -- The airline industry expects to recover from the pandemic in a couple of years and when it does, United plans to diversify the cockpit.
It launched a flight school called United Aviate Academy with the goal of training 5,000 pilots by 2030. Half of which will be women and people of color.

No they are prohibited and that’s why I stated that they should be qualified.
Obviously, all pilots need to be qualified and always make good decisions.
I wonder how they will water down the flight hours, etc. to get the desired demographics into the cockpits.
At the Naval Academy, at least many years ago, each graduating midshipmen got to choose his type of service according to his ( now his or her) class rank. That is why McCain, graduating near the bottom of his class, could not go to flight school directly from the academy. With his father and grandfather both Admirals, somehow he got to fly a few years later and we know how that turned out.
Most qualified regardless of demographic is better than minimally qualified with different demographics getting a boost.
What could go wrong?

No, they have not been prohibited from working as pilots at United or any other U.S. based airline. Airlines should hire the most qualified pilots.

And higher end white collar jobs, largely finance/accounting/strategy. Although the Corp effort to change that has started as well, one of the reasons I want to be able to retire in 6-8 years in mid to upper 40s and I encourage the younger guys to save like crazy. At least at my level I get a big severance check if that day comes although very hard to replace me at my company.

As I said, all white-collar jobs are being filled with the Dot Indian invasion. Forgot a big one. Insurance and Medical. Instead of pleasant Filipina nurses, more and more smelly foul dot Indians are being hired as well. Remember there are 1.4 billion of them vs. 330 million Americans and they are like locusts in any job. Once they start moving into an area, that’s it for the natives.
That movie is becoming more of a documentary every day. Scary thing is that it is supposed to be 500 years in the future. We are on pace to be fully tarded by 2030.
By current leftist standards, it’s only real diversity if you have at least one tranny. Maybe the top row, third one in qualifies?
I should be long retired before it catches up with me, if ever, and I get a big severance check even if I do get laid off, but its one of the reasons my wife and I are not having any kids and haven’t wanted any with our ~15 years of marriage. That said, I’ve personally been very impressed by Indian Americans here. They speak English well, work hard and invest in their families and communities, and many of them own companies, hotels, stores, etc that create a lot of jobs also. ~60% of hotels in the US are owned by Indian Americans, for example. They have also been very nice people in my experience.

No one is stopping anyone from investing in hotels and apartments, nor have I noted any racism or cheating among Indian Americans. The only cheating I see is in Corp America. I don’t know why you think they’ve taken over finance/accounting because it simply isn’t true - it’s absolutely dominated by whites and what Asians are in those jobs tend to be Chinese, Japanese and Korean. I am a senior finance exec that even travels around the US and elsewhere - finance is overwhelmingly white. You do realize white college degreed unemployment rate is like 3%, right?
