The man accused of trying to extort $25 million from Rep. Matt Gaetz’s family admitted Monday that he asked the congressman’s dad for cash — but denied that it was a shakedown.
Bob Kent, an ex-Air Force intelligence officer, confirmed to Sirius Radio host Michael Smerconish that he approached the Florida Republican’s dad, Don Gaetz, for money last month.
The funds, Kent said, were to pay for an effort to free Robert Levinson, a former FBI agent who disappeared in Iran in 2007, and is believed to be dead. Kent claimed he has video evidence that Levinson is still alive and is being held hostage.
Kent said he met Don Gaetz, a wealthy former Florida politician, at his office on March 17 — and told him his son was having “legal issues” and might want to “generate good will” by helping with the rescue effort.
“I explained that in no way am I trying to extort him and that if he decides not to help us, he’ll never hear from me again,” Kent told Smerconish.
“Matt Gaetz is in need of good publicity, and I’m in need of $25 million to save Robert Levinson,” he added.
Kent insisted that his intention wasn’t to blackmail the Gaetz family.
“I never threatened the man — matter of fact, it was the opposite: I told him if he decides not to help us he’ll never hear from me again,” Kent said, adding, “I can’t help how it sounds.”

Kent, who admitted he asked for the money, Stephen Alford, his partner, a long time criminal, and their lawyer, who was to collect the money, just happens to be an Ex DoJ Prosecutor.
Alford has been raided by the FBi numerous times.
There’s a psychology to having a secret and they planted the seed of him paying $$$ that would make his sons problems go away.
They meet agree to take partial payment, or make another meeting.
The FBi swoops in the next day and tells Dad they were recording these bad guys and we need to interview you to put them away.
Every mis-statement and inaccuracy is a Felony.
Papadopolous was charged because he mis-remembered a date.

Unless the ex intel officer has connections to the Russian mob? Levinson was reported to be an expert on Russian organized crime.
One of Chris Steele’s sources was oligarch Oleg Deripaska... Oleg Deripaska also happens to be involved in the Levinson case ...

Give it time. The problem with such accusations is that, sooner more than later, people do come out. Now, it may very well be people trying to capitalize on the publicity/notoriety/cash, and that they were never 17/molested/etc, but the point is that people ALWAYS come out.
Which is why it’s never a good thing when such accusations start, especially if the accused has money/is famous. It is a magnet for both the truth and the lie to come forth, and it doesn’t matter if someone is the most innocent person in the world or if they are the most unscrupulous knave to ever walk the earth!
People will come out!
The question is if he will have one accuser or if he will have many!

And Oleg Deripaska was also supplying info to Bruce Ohr as part of Crossfire Hurricane... and Democrat senator Warner was also channeling info from Putin pal Oleg Deripaska back in the Carter Page frame up.
All of this started when the Obama admin got torqued off at General Mike Flynn for his efforts to foil the John Kerry/ Obama admin’s anti-Israel UN scheme in December 2016.
Flynn also was involved in supporting Robyn Gritz, a federal official who was researching the Levinson case when she got in a harassment dispute with Andrew McCabe, who was trying to shut down the Levinson investigation. And Andrew McCabe, as we know, has a wife who was promoted as a candidate for office by Terry McAuliffe and, if I recall correctly, Warner.
and Andrew McCabe was part of the anti-Trump “small group” that included Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and the Ohrs.
Interesting, but then again the left have no depths they will not try....investigation by the Department of Justice? Hmmm
