This is child abuse. Forcing a child to apologize for a concept about which they’re not familiar in order to make some sort of statement is just appalling.

They can’t MAKE you do anything; you either comply, or refuse to comply.
It is a choice.
There are consequences to either action, but it is still a choice.
Personally I’d choose to flip a middle finger to whomever brought up the idea and absolutely refuse.
I’d take the consequences and STILL give them a middle finger afterward.
They should try this out in prisons.

A bullet through each boy would have been ever so much more an apology. If they were going to rape girls at such a young age, just think what they would do when they got older and bolder.

I blame the parents for putting up with this and all the other BS. Parents need to start banding together. There are millions of parents just standing aside and letting this stuff happen. Another thing they should do is OPEN the schools and run the school boards out of town.

...you probably weren’t brought up by snowflake parents who groomed you to accept your faults of being a white male. I sure as hell wasn’t. My father was in the Army for 27 years. In 3 wars. And was a drill instructor for a few years. He never would’ve put up with this BS.
You are right. The boys were forced to apologize for something they didn’t do and likely didn’t even understand.
