Cumulus Media and Westwood One have agreed to terms with conservative commentator Dan Bongino to host a daily three-hour show from 12-3pm eastern.
Bongino currently hosts a daily podcast for Westwood One that since March 2020 has been repurposed into a one-hour syndicated show on over 100 stations including 790 KABC Los Angeles and 560 KSFO San Francisco.
The new show would air live in the timeslot currently held by Limbaugh on many if not all Cumulus owned Conservative Talk and News Talk stations.
Bongino is a former NYPD officer and Secret Service agent turned conservative pundit and investor in digital properties including Parler and Rumble. He has previously served as a fill-in host at WMAL Washington and WBAL Baltimore and multiple syndicated talkers including Sean Hannity.
An official announcement should be forthcoming by early next week.
I like his truculence.

Truculence: Good choice, not heard very often!
I miss Neal Boortz....................
Nobody can replace Rush. He was one of a kind. Dan Bongino is a good pick to follow Rush.
Cumulus isn’t EIB’s syndication partner; Premiere Networks is. They have not yet announced a new program or host.
The timeslot already has Dennis Prager, Steve Deace, Dana Loesch, and Todd Starnes. Now Bongino enters.
Premiere has apparently talked about moving Hannity (#2 behind Rush) into Rush’s timeslot, but that would leave them having to find someone to fill Sean’s slot. Laura Ingraham is reportedly interested in getting back into radio, as long as it’s not in her former morning timeslot. Either the noon to 3 Eastern slot or the 3 to 6 Eastern slot would fit that requirement.
I believe that Dan also has sources inside or who have recently left these LEO orgs as well.
Gordon Peterson podcasts would be nice occasionally.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Steyn is being considered by Premiere.
I can do without Tik-Tok Hannity for good..................
I’m so glad to hear that! I haven’t been on Telegram in a few days so I probably missed it.
Dan Bongino fills Rush's time slot.
NOBODY "replaces" MAHARUSHI!
Another excellent choice, but being on satellite limits his audience.
Steyn and the late Walter E. Williams.
Umm..Westwood One does not syndicate Rush’s show. It belongs to Premier Radio Networks, and they plan to continue the current format, with various guest hosts (including Todd Herman and Ken Matthews) filling in, along with generous numbers of clips from Maha Rushie. Bo Snerdley recently hinted that Premier has a long-term plan for the time slot; guessing it’s probably based on one of the current “guide hosts” (Herman seems to have the inside track right now), or another personality in the syndicator’s stable. If they got that route, I think Buck Sexton gets the nod.
Better headline: Westwood signs Dan Bongino for new 12n-3pm talk show, the slot dominated for years by Rush Limbaugh. With Rush’s passing, various syndication companies will be pushing new or existing hosts, hoping to place their hosts on the 600 stations that carried his show.
Doesn’t matter, Rush is irreplaceable..................
Steyn’s appearances on EIB seem to be decreasing. Looks like the suits at Premier are really pushing Todd Herman from KTTH in Seattle. Mark Steyn was once the fill-in host of choice (when Rush was making the call). Now that he’s gone, we’re getting extended try-outs for hosts that Premier Radio would like to use in that timeslot.
I feel sorry for whoever (ultimately) gets the nod. You may remember when Paul Harvey passed away in 2010. ABC (which was still in the radio business back then) wanted the show to continue, since it was a cash cow. They tried Gil Gross for a couple of days, then Doug Limerick. Paul Harvey Jr (announcer on his dad’s program) was never an option. Nothing worked, and they pulled the plug on the show only a few weeks after Paul died.
Some shoes are too big to fill.
or the extremely self obsessed and annoying Eric Ericskon— at least in GA and southern stations.
Just a running sore of useless never Trump GOPe gubmint repub trough eating crap from this pseudo-conservative.
Prager is too depressing. Lets face it, theres really no one out there that can come close to replacing Rush. Its like looking to replace Sinatra. I would have liked to see how Mr. Snerdy would have done. Not sure if he will transition to the new team.
You are absolutely correct. It will be very interesting to see what happens as Rush’s show was a huge profit center for IHeart/Premiere.
Never heard of him.....Is he your cousin?
This is a relief. But it might have worked out better to have a team of two or three co-hosts who share the rotation.
