The Democratic leader of New York’s Senate called for Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign Sunday amid mounting allegations of sexual harassment and undercounting COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes.
Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins added her voice to a growing number of Cuomo’s foes and allies who believe the three-term Democrat should step down.
Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, also a Democrat, stopped short of echoing Stewart-Cousins but said in a statement that “it is time for the Governor to seriously consider whether he can effectively meet the needs of the people of New York.”
On Saturday, another woman who worked for Cuomo publicly accused him of inappropriate behavior, on the heels of other allegations in recent weeks.

This is so sad.
Cuomo ran up the “Covid deaths” with his nursing home practices, but it is not for that crime that he is to be punished.
Keep him in office, high visibility and daily embarrassment to the Dems.
Don’t let him be ushered out and then “let’s move on””the guy’s not even still in office, so lay off” and “old news.”
Then they’ll say the nursing home death travesty was due to underlings he didn’t properly supervise but he’s innocent.BS
I be elated when this scumbag is gone, but Sexual Harassment is a minor thing compared to thousands of elderly people because of Cuomo and his staff
This has got to be rough for the Cuomos. They’ve always regarded themselves as untouchable, just like the Clintons and the Kennedys. Mario must be spinning like linguini on a fork.
Democrats want Cuomo gone - their press boys will help get the job done.
I’m glad that so far, most republicans are staying out of this street fight. I include Trump.

They’re probably expecting the media to follow to well-known rule that once a politician is out of office, then no one can hassle them in any way, and all issues should be forgotten and put aside. Get him out for the sex harassment, and the dead old folks become a non-issue.
Trump, of course, was handled differently, but he’s Hitler.
This is a scam to get Cuomo out of the headlines. Keeps the press away from the other dem governors who killed off senior citizens. Have you read the ladie’s complaints? He smiled at me, he hugged me. One is even he touched my back.
Tell this to the little girl who’s chest Joe is fondling, the wife who’s neck he is nuzzling. As usual, if not for double standards the democrats would have no standards.
Maybe Cuomo will be mad enough to point this out himself.
Impeach him, file a lawsuit, or shut up. Calling for a resignation is rediculous. To my knowledge, NO ONE who has ever been called on to resign has done so. And, doing so would be a bad move for anyone. It admits fault, which opens unlimited liability. People who call for someone to resign are posturing.
