A new, peer-reviewed study finds that one of the cheap, widely available drugs that has been dismissed by the left, establishment media and many in the health establishment as a treatment for COVID-19 reduces infections, hospitalizations and deaths by about 75%.
Ivermectin, in more than 30 trials around the world, causes "repeated, consistent, large magnitude improvements in clinical outcomes’ at all stages of the disease," according to the study, which will be published in the U.S. journal Frontiers of Pharmacology, DailyMail.com reported. The evidence is so strong, the researchers believe, the anti-parasitic drug should become a standard therapy everywhere, hastening global recovery.
"The data is overwhelming – we are in a pandemic, and this is an incredibly effective way to combat it. If we use ivermectin widely, our societies can open up," said study co-author Professor Paul Marik, director of emergency and pulmonary care at Eastern Virginia Medical School. A previous study by Professor Andrew Hill of Liverpool University also found ivermectin cuts death rates by about 75%.
DailyMail.com said a new trial of ivermectin as a COVID treatment is due to begin soon at Oxford University.
Evidence that the widespread use of ivermectin in parts of India and South America have caused a major reduction in infections and deaths was presented last weekend at an online summit of international experts last weekend hosted by Dr. Tess Lawrie, director of the Evidence-Based Medicine Consultancy in Bath, England.
On Wednesday, Lawrie urged the World Health Organization to recommend ivermectin to treat COVID-19, providing evidence in a 97-page report.
In India, ivermectin has been distributed through kiosks since last August.

There is probably no new information for well-read FReepers, but it seems more people are just learning about Ivermectin every day, so I thought it worthwhile to add this paper to the COVID-19 body of information. Maybe it will be helpful to somebody even though it is old news to most of us.
My sister was in the hospital for a week due to COVID and accompanying pneumonia. They said it was too late for remdesivir, but they gave her ivermectin.
So what is the dose and is it a one off dose....or follow up dose needed....just askin for a fren.

While 12mg is fine for a 150lb person, it’s actually .2mg/kg on Day 1, day 3 then every 2 weeks after that. A 250lb person would be more like 22mg.

Glad to help. Just got over COVID, got it despite ivermectin prophylaxis. Who knows, maybe it kept me out of the hospital. Then again, a women in my practice got it despite being vaccinated. Nothing’s perfect obviously

If you have a gram scale, about .64 grams of the Tractor Supply horse paste. It is 1.87% ivermectin, .0187 x 6.08 grams = 113.7 mg ivermectin total.
A tenth of the paste total would be 11.37 mg, which is probably close enough.

On the low side, from what I’ve read, but still pretty darn good. I think people here who ‘trust their doctor’ might be starting to catch on that doctors have to feed their families too, and if they are told to say Ivermectin is useless, they will say “Ivermectin is useless” (with very rare exceptions). Likewise, if they’re told to tell you meat is bad, statins are good, and carb-loading is fine for dealing with weight and/or diabetes issues - they will say that “meat is bad, statins are good, and carb-loading is fine for dealing with weight and/or diabetes issues”
