The identity politics that come from intersectionality are designed to separate people
The recent revelation that a senior Navy task force is proposing an oath to be taken by every member of the Navy was a warning of how deep woke-think has penetrated American institutions – even the Defense Department.
Consider this pledge proposed by Task Force Navy One, which was formed in June to develop strategies to combat discrimination in the Navy:
"I pledge to advocate for and acknowledge all lived experiences and intersectional identities of every sailor in the Navy. I pledge to engage in ongoing self-reflection, education and knowledge sharing to better myself and my communities. I pledge to be an example in establishing healthy, inclusive and team-oriented environments. I pledge to constructively share all experiences and information gained from activities above to inform the development of Navy-wide reforms."
Reread this pledge and think of the young men and women who will be asked to commit to it.
First, how many new recruits will have any idea what this "intersectionality" they have pledged to advocate for and acknowledge actually is?
As wikia.org defines it:
"Intersectionality is a concept often used in critical theories to describe the ways in which oppressive institutions (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, classism, etc.) are interconnected and cannot be examined separately from one another."
The website goes on to say it is "largely used in critical theories, especially Feminist theory, when discussing systematic oppression."
It is profoundly wrong to have our young men and women in uniform take a pledge like this.

This didn’t start yesterday or even 20 years ago.

Ain’t your daddies Navy anymore. All one has to do is take a look at what the academies are turning out and think of all those most qualified physically and mentally fit that were denied because of their skin color, ethnicity and gender.

This Navy pledge is a tough blow, the Marxists are clearly winning the culture. I always hoped our law and military institutions could be be an oasis away from the madness. Nope. It’s a very tough and long road ahead, no quick fixes.

Indeed Clinton set the tone for cited decline and more. He’s dodged responsibility but he owns it.
A key campaign promise of Clinton was to remove penalties for homosexuals serving in the military. In January 1993 Clinton partially lifted such restrictions. This was followed several months later by adoption of the “don’t ask - don’t tell” policy.

Correct. The military is not a social club, a social experiment, all inclusive feel good commitment. When you join up if you are not able and willing to kill, capture, and destroy you need not apply. If you joined for benefits, college, an easy job, get out. Not everyone has the warrior spirit. The last war we won was fought to gain unconditional surrender, our only mistake was we didn’t take their woman.
Left wants military “woke” so they can shoot citizens when called upon. It is so obvious.
Remember the film “The Hunt for Red October” when a political commissar that Captain Ramius dispatched, with a deft but brutal snap of the neck? Sean Connery’s character committed murder and mutiny, a terrible and irreversible pair of capital offenses in the Soviet Union then. And they would be now. But he had to do it, literally to save us all from a dire threat to civilization itself.
Because of that threat, limits were reached, a Rubicon was crossed, and the die was cast. Will the kind of woke idiocy that has weakened and undermined our military in the last few decades, our national defense against annihilation, make inevitable such drastic and dire measures as mutiny?
Talk is one thing. Actions, another. Perhaps they are floating the same kind of stupid balloon, like all the others. The Democrats are in power, now will they fatally abuse it?
What if they don’t do it? What then? Kick them out? I am so damned glad the Good LORD of Heaven and earth allowed me to be long retired and gone from the military. I would have quit. If it was this bad then, I would not have even joined in the first place. I joined KNOWING my butt was headed for the jungles of Southeast Asia in a little nothing country called Vietnam. But, I joined. Just like my family members did in WWII and Korea. Sadly, I retired in March 1992. I know of NO other family, extended as we are, bunches out there cousins, etc., but none of them have gone into the military that I know of. I may well have been the last in a very long line of military people. I had kin that died in the War of Northern Aggression. Sad.
Systematic means you're purposely racist. Systemic means you're unconsciously racist because you're white. Their twisted ideology says you're a racist either way and need mind-wiping/reprogramming.
Had I been subjected to such crap during my term of service I'd have turned to legal avenues and sought honorable discharge as soon as possible. It counters the Oath of Service and violates Christianity.
Well this is very comforting to the Chinese, Iran, Russia etc.
