The White House called a lid for Joe Biden on Thursday, after an inch of snow and sleet fell in Washington, DC.
Calling a “lid” informs reporters the president will not appear in public or travel anywhere for the rest of the day.
The lid was called by White House staff at 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning. A few inches of snow and sleet are forecast to fall in Washington, DC, for the rest of the day.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki held her daily 12:30 p.m. briefing over the phone.
Wednesday night, officials announced they postponed Biden’s trip to a vaccine manufacturing facility in Michigan planned for Thursday.
Biden still has yet to publicly voice his concerns for Americans suffering in Texas, even though his predecessor former President Barack Obama voiced sympathy on Twitter for those affected by the storms.
Psaki told reporters during her phone briefing with Biden’s Homeland Security adviser Liz Sherwood-Randall that the White House and the federal government would continue working behind the scenes to get more aid to Texans.

I think he’s still learning his way around the White House. Reports were that he never had been in the residential part of the White House when he was Obama’s VP. And he wakes in the morning and asks Jill where the hell are they?

I have seen President Trump talk with hostile reporters for ten or fifteen minutes while just walking out to the presidential helicopter and he fielded their questions well.
Joe Biden will not even do this with the friendly press corp. He is not capable of coherent conversation from soft ball questions. He would totally be destroyed by questions from conservative reporters that are not allowed access to him.
He is mid stage senile dementia. He can not converse on an ad hoc basis with logic. A year ago he could read a teleprompter with few mistakes. He can not do this today.
Note of importance. I know who my sister is. I never introduced her as my wife at a campaign event. Joe did.
I must give much complements to the DNC and the Media in electing a mid stage senile dementia man as president living in his basement for 12 months. He lived there not due to covid but if he came out of the basement on a regular and ad hod basis his mental decline would be evident in the extreme.
Who is really president today? Is it Harris, is it Rice or is it others behind both that are really making policy and decisions? It is not Joe Biden! He is mentally compromised.
Oddly I think our president today is Obama. He pulls the strings of all of Biden’s advisors and cabinet.
I have taken off and landed as pilot in command in such conditions.
The pilots in front on Air Force One exceed my ability in the extreme. What is really going on is the attempt to limit Joe's exposure to the public which reveals his dementia day by day. It is really that simple.
