WASHINGTON — Sen. Ted Cruz flew home from Mexico Thursday, amid outrage over his trip during a crisis-level storm in Texas — explaining he was only chaperoning his daughters and their friends on the flight.
The Republican lawmaker was seen getting back on a plane to the US on Thursday afternoon and issued a statement explaining that was not on a vacation himself, but was accompanying his daughters on a flight to theirs.

In my humble opinion, cruz should have stuck around and asked: “what can i do to help?” no matter how small the task he could have done something.
As far as I know I am not Jewish, however, I do have a great grandfather with a Jewish sounding name, steal his way to America as a stow away from Germany, in the late 1800's. I really do not have the mind to consider how the numerous ethnic peoples consider this or that.
I never had the connection and/or understanding, what is so appealing about Ted Cruz, to people calling themselves 'right'. Thank you for the link.
I remember right after 9/11 Howard Stern’s Fred Norris imitated what dinkins would’ve said “Dat any nothing, ain’t nothin at all’. I hate Stern now, but they were on point.
Belittle this disaster makes you on that level.

Oh, and the city I just fled put out an email that water levels are at critical. We’re filling up the bathtubs here in case it’s all gone by tonight, and very well could be.
Phooey. Rats get away with this all the time, without the press even mentioning it.
Nothing wrong with what Cruz did. I’m sick and tired of a press that looks for any excuse to bash Conservatives.

Ted getting stuck on I45 on the way home. Then when he did get home... no water or heat.

I wonder if people living in homes don’t know how to turn their water off to keep pipes from busting. Drain the line.
That said, homes aren’t built the same way down there to combat cold
If anything, that’s Cruz’s mistake. Returning home.
Cruz should have just said, “I paid for this trip, beforehand, and I am going to get what I paid for.”
What would he do anyway?
Government is not there to console people, or comfort them. And frankly, I question what Cruz could have done anyway.
Screw the press and people bashing Cruz for this. They hate him anyway.
Maybe with Ivory Snow detergent flakes tossed on his hair to make him look like he’s been outside in the freezing weather.

Pretty sure that’s what was used on the set of “It’s a Wonderful Life” for the outdoor snow scenes.
Going to Mexico?! Likely the only reason he is going there is to avoid COVID restrictions placed on Americans in the US. Plus ignoring his state and the wrath of us he despise him for dissing Trump. Lyn’ Ted has no credibility and should resign and let Abbot appoint a Trump Republican to the senate seat.

Apartments are raining water all over the state. This is going to be unbelievably costly no matter what now.
What, blame us for Lyn’ Ted’s stupidity? Has he no role to help his adopted state? And are you making excuses for his repeated dissing of Trump?
yeah I get the issue in apartments...but houses you have control over.
