Update: President Trump released an official statement on Limbaugh's passing.
"The great Rush Limbaugh has passed away to a better place, free from physical pain and hostility," Trump said. "His honor, courage, strength, and loyalty will never be replaced. Rush was a patriot, a defender of Liberty, and someone who believed in all of the greatness our Country stands for. Rush was a friend to myself and millions of Americans—a guiding light with the ability to see the truth and paint vivid pictures over the airwaves. Melania and I express our deepest condolences to his wonderful wife, Kathryn, his family, and all of his dedicated fans. He will be missed greatly."

The conservative movement lost one of its heroes on Wednesday as Rush Limbaugh lost his battle with advanced lung cancer. His wife, Kathryn, made the announcement on his radio show. President Trump called in live during Fox News's coverage of the breaking news to reflect on his friendship with the legendary radio host.
Trump explained that the two developed a friendship after Limbaugh told him he liked the "rather controversial" speech he gave in 2015 after coming down the escalator in Trump Tower to announce he'd be running for president.
"He was a unique guy, and he became a friend of mine...he was with me right from the beginning," Trump said of Limbaugh. "He was just a great gentleman. A great man."
And from then on, Limbaugh carried his message. After his win against Hillary Clinton, Trump says he called Limbaugh "just to thank him" and from there they developed "a very good friendship."
Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer noted that the two men don't exactly seem like two personalities that would mix.
"I like people that some people wouldn't think I like," Trump noted.
"He loved this country," Trump said, later adding that Limbaugh was "irreplaceable" and "a man of the future."
At his last State of the Union speech in February 2020, Trump surprised Limbaugh by awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. First lady Melania Trump, who was sitting next to Limbaugh, placed the medal on him herself. Limbaugh was visibly emotional from the gesture.

"It was something special, it was an incredible night," Trump recalled on Wednesday.
I think Bo Snerdly should do the show, at least temporarily and if he wants to. He had a weekly show on WABC when Rush was still in New York. No one knew Rush better and few loved him more.
I told my Father, who loved to watch Carson, 20 years ago that RUSH would be bigger than Johnny Carson. I stand by that as you said, RUSH invented what he did, Carson followed others.
Rush created an industry, AM talk radio that people wanted to listen to. There are many who have benefited from his risk taking and perserverance over the years.
Nobody can replace RUSH, he's irreplaceable. Whatever emerges will be much different.
AMEN.
God speed, Rush.
We will try to carry on.
In my experience, the people I know whose personalities are more like trump than not, always seem to hate Trump.
Won’t be the last to say this on this post. I feel like I have lost a member of my family. Been listening to him since the late 90’s. RIP Maha-Rushi.
God called that loan in. We (conservatives) cannot begin to repay what we got from it except with our gratitude.
His vile detractors only wish they had 1/10 the influence and goodwill that he wielded and received.
From his celestial vantage point he can see every thread his voice wove into the lives of millions of Americans, in their kitchens, cars, workshops... His influence is without equal.
Trump should invest in a media empire called “EIB.” We need our own MEDIA.
Oddly the name that comes to mind is Tucker Carlson.. not likely.. but it’s a place for him to go and jump ship from Fox. Not a guy to replace Rush but a voice that could do good with that slot and be as popular..
After a period of grieving I pray that our Creator sends one to fill Rush’s place.

...There was a group back in the 1990s — and they still exist.
There was a group in the 1990s that were malcontents, renegades, and off the mainstream plantation of conservatism as articulated by the party.
Those were the people that were the early participants in the website Free Republic.
They were known as Freepers. - Rush Limbaugh, July 3, 2013

OMG talk about heads exploding. But that would be great.
Thank you for posting and providing the link to Rush’s “35 Undeniable Facts of Life,” as they were once entitled. I still have a copy of them that was included to my subscription to the Limbaugh Letter 25 years ago.
I know I held my tongue when McNuts died. I wanted to write “hell has gained another soul” but didn’t.
RIP Rush! You are loved and will be missed terribly!
