Bless you.

I had never heard of him, but in 1988-1989 (IIRC), my mother found him on some talk radio show. She had been listening to talk radio since the 1950’s.

I did not catch his show, but friends of mine let me know when Rush started his TV show, and I watched one show while visiting them.

About the same time, I visited other friends near Washington, DC, and in the morning, there was something like a shortwave radio broadcast from some “bunker” in the area - that was a teaser for the start of G. Gordon Liddy’s radio show out of WJFK, Fairfax, VA.

Within months, G. Gordon Liddy’s radio show arrived in the town where I lived. I was hooked; and thereby, also a follower of Rush Limbaugh.

It was a great era.

Today, watching the FoxNews coverage re the passing of Rush, I think it was Larry Kudlow or maybe Brett Baier, who pointed out, that the 1994 election wins for Republicans, happened because of Rush Limbaugh.

I think that is certainly true.

Thank you for your story, and about your father.

This is some very sad news.

We can’t afford to lose the ones who fight.

Prayers for him and his family and for America.

Dear Lord, take Rush to Yourself and grant him the peace and joy that is only Yours to give. Forgive those who rejoice his passing, they are lost and need Your grace. Comfort his family with the sure knowledge that he is with You now and death has no power over him. Amen

I can’t really remember the first time I heard Rush. I found talk radio in 2001 or so and Rush shortly thereafter. I was always jealous of people who had been listening to him from the beginning.

Today, I am just grateful that God led me to him when He did and that I was able to learn from him and shed the liberal indoctrination I had suffered from for twenty years.

Be with God today and for always, Rush.

My parents discovered Rush during the Clarence Thomas hearings when I was in middle school. I had an instinct about freedom by then that he validated. That’s how I learned conservatism and it was an epiphany.

By the time I was in high school, I watched Rush’s TV show at 5:30am. Listening to him while cleaning swimming pools in college was the perfect antidote from getting aggravated by liberal professor rantings the previous day.

Rush was a constant companion during my first career, driving all over rural Nevada. Then after years of working in a cubicle farm, being allowed to work from home allowed us to be reunited for one more year. His Missouri warmth reminded me of a lot of my family members in Kansas. I truly feel like I’ve lost a wise uncle. RIP

YEs! Many ears ago, I found that a favorite local conservative radio guy's show was going to be replaced by a guy named Rush Limbaugh. What?, I thought. I was ticked, but I gave him a shot. Five minutes into the show, I was sold on Rush.

And here i was thinking losing Andrew Breitbart was bad....

America just lost one of it’s greatest treasures with the with the death of the wonderful Rush Limbaugh.
A loss of priceless proportions...

I still have tears on my cheeks..

I suspect Rush recorded some thoughts, and inspiring words for his followers during these difficult times. Just a matter of how and when Catherine chooses to get them thoughtfully released. CHINS UP!

I am so saddened about this.. He was an Icon. He started it all.. I started listening to him in 1992 when he was campaigning with George Herbert Walker Bush.. Is their anyone that can fill this void?

I'm here at work, do tax returns at a Wal*Mart kiosk. I'm trying to hold back the tears. I've been a listener since 1989 although since I'm from Pittsburgh and live now in the Ohio Valley near Wheeling, WWVA, 1170 kc territory, I remember him as Jeff Christie when I was real little on KQV and WIXZ.

I keep thinking about when Billy Graham was asked about who will lead when he is gone, he gestured his hand out to a full stadium and said "they will." We need to not only look to ourselves but maybe if there is another line Beck, Hannity, Kevin or Steyn, get behind them too. We owe Rush, let's give the Democrates Hell in 2022 and 2024. Cancer, inflammatory breast cancer, took my mother in 2013. Damn cancer. B-(@

Bill Hemmer and Harris Faulkner had an excellent tribute to Rush’s career, it was their entire show.

I'm sure Hannity will dedicate his show as well.

what you said just hit me.

During some tough times in my own life, I would turn Rush on and there he was... explaining the world and being optimistic

“Dan’s Bake Sale”

As Ronald Reagan, Billy Graham, and Paul Harvey all did:

Rush loved our worthy American Heritage; and Rush loved Americans - plus people everywhere who wish to be American, respecting our worthy American Heritage, and standing up for freedom and liberty.

Rush showed up, and he stood up.
