Nancy Pelosi slams Mitch McConnell for ‘disingenuous’ Trump impeachment speech
The conservative editorial board of the Wall Street Journal on Sunday drew a line in the sand and warned Republicans to leave Donald Trump behind if they want to retake the White House in 2024.
“Mr. Trump may run again, but he won’t win another national election,” they wrote in an opinion piece. “The country is moving past the Trump Presidency, and the GOP will remain in the wilderness until it does too,” they added.
The article argues that president was already unpopular, never having an approval rating of more than 50 per cent and already having lost the election before the events of the attack on the Capitol, but to run again would even further weaken the party.

Republicans need to ditch the WSJ if they want to continue to exist as a party.
Even before the election very few Americans are for selling out our country for cheap products and labor.
Nothing is “wrong” with tax cuts. It’s just that they have been the shiny object held up by globalists to distract conservatives since President Reagan. Mitt Romney and Ben Sasse are onboard with tax cuts. They would like nothing more than the debate to go there. The globalists pretty effectively deflected everything into economic questions for 2 or 3 decades. Tax cuts aren’t going to close our border. They have little to no impact on Drag Queen Story Hour or Planned Parenthood or Antifa/BLM.
“Trump won’t win another national election”
Then absolutely the Democrats should want him to Run. By all means Democrats, run Hillary Clinton again. Run John Edwards again. No wait.....Run Berney Sanders again. As a conservative I want the Democrats to put up weak and pathetic candidates!!!
Telling Republicans that “Trump won’t win another national election” is like saying “We are going to keep doing voter fraud” or “We are terrified he will come back and really clean up Washington”, or both.
He’ll be too old to run in 2024. He’ll be Biden’s age
👍👍👍
They are wrong!
They are completely delusional at the WSJ. And talk about out of touch!
This has gotten worse since this virus nonsense began. The news section and even the features section is about nothing except their fears and the cute little things they are doing with their designer masks or how they dress to look cool for their Zoom meetings. They’re loving it. No more messy life to worry about, no Trump to inject a bit of reality, and the money rolling in from corporations that no longer make anything but just make money on their money.
My dog ran up the driveway to retrieve my WSJ this chilly morning. Front page article on Texas power shortages blamed excessive demand compounded by failures in Coal and Gas fired power plants. Wind Turbines and Solar panel failures not even mentioned. Editorial Page only this right.
WSJ Editors harped on dumping Trump for challenging the election results, concluding it is time to move on. Investigate and report on 2020 Election facts first. TRUST is essential! Until then, why vote for anybody?
I remember years ago attending a dinner in DC; I was at a table with two ambassadors who had been appointed by Reagan - successful business types who were very convivial and impressive. There was also a country club “Muffy” at the table and we started talking politics. She said that “those people” (evangelicals and other Deplorables) had to be kicked out of the R party. I responded to her chagrin, “well that will leave the Rs with about two percent of the vote; you will have to convert en masse the populations of the big cities and it ain’t gonna happen”. One of the ambassadors piped in and backed me up, stating “we need these people and there is no way we can win an election without them”. There are some people with common sense in the party hierarchy; just not enough of them.
I ditched the Deep State Wall Street Journal long ago.
translation...the last steal/coup was so obvious the next we won’t be able to sweep under the carpet...
****Trump won’t win another national election...***
Isn’t two enough?
As we all know, this has been the goal all along. They want to wear us out until we lose hope and stay home on election day.
****Trump won’t win another national election...***
Isn’t two enough?
The Journal may be right. Trump may not win another national election, I don’t know. But Trump is quite capable of influencing House races and Senate races and Governor races throughout the country. Ditch Trump, as the Journal suggests, and you lose that powerful asset that can make the difference between being in the majority or the minority.
The Country Club thinks everyone wants to be a member.
They also want them to ditch the “Tea Party” and not have a 2010 style revolution/revolt, giving the Dems an even deeper hold on the Congress, and giving Harris a 10 year term as POTUS.
Don't worry. You are among friends and it is OK to state the truth. Perhaps re-line, or re-carpet is more appropriate since the WSJ makes an excellent bird cage liner or puppy training area, but we get the idea.
Trump’s biggest problem is Father Time. He always wins.
Of course Trump won’t win another national election. That’s not a slam of him. He’ll be 78 years old... looking at 86 by the time he’s out of office. He was by far the oldest person ever elected president in 2016, and we’re talking about him in 2024? There’s no way in Hell a 78-year-old is competent to be president.
