New Maryland bill would rename 'Indian Head Highway' to 'President Barack Obama Highway' © Getty Images State senators in Maryland recently introduced legislation that seeks to rename Indian Head Highway after former President Obama.
Senate Bill 213, introduced by Democratic state Sens. Arthur Ellis and Obie Patterson, would require the Maryland State Highway Administration to designate the highway, also known by some as Maryland Route 210, as “the President Barack Obama Highway.”
The change would cost roughly $12,500 to cover the costs for the design, construction and installation of the signs for the highway, which runs through parts of Maryland and Washington, D.C., a fiscal and policy note shows.

Never heard of Indian Head Highway. I think they renamed Negro Jim Mountain a couple years ago.

This is cultural cleansing to eliminate traditional American references to our Indian heritage.
I think as a safety measure Google Maps should include a setting option that says, “avoid roads with Martin Luther King or Barack Obama in the name.”
I used to take Indian head hwy down to port tobacco where I had my boat. It is rich in history and had some of the best pancakes. Can’t remember the name of the place.
My Mom passed away last year so I have no reason to return to my hometown northeast of Atlanta. When I used to go there and see the Interstate signs for Jimmy Carter Blvd, I would throw up in my mouth a little.

We live in the Anne Arundel part Laurel and will be leaving later this year after 24 years in Maryland.It looks like we picked a good time to leave.
If they are going to name it after him.

The owner there had a special doo-wop oldies DJ turn every week on our Baltimore oldies station. He always advertised for himself the Roadhouse Oldies.

I was never in the Glen Burnie store, but I frequented the one in Silver Spring because it was right near the Metro stop. The manager of the one in Silver Spring was Les Moskowitz.
I was a regular listener to Alan Lee’s show when I was living in Rosslyn, Va. If you watch Emerald Robinson’s reports on Newsmax TV, I’m pretty sure the red brick building in the distance behind her is the apartment building where I was living.
