Several prominent Republican lawmakers strongly criticized a judge's sentence Friday that resulted in probation and no prison time for the only person charged in the Justice Department's investigation into the origins of alleged Trump-Russia collusion.
Former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith received a sentence of 12 months probation and 400 hours community service from U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg during a video hearing. Clinesmith pleaded guilty to altering an CIA email used to support a government wiretap of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
Boasberg, who also is on the FISA court, denied special counsel John Durham's recommendation of up to six months in prison. The judge said Clinesmith had suffered the loss of a well-paying job and a career in government service.
Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told the Washington Examiner that "once again, we see a two-tiered system of justice where average Americans get investigated and imprisoned based on fake media narratives like 'Russian collusion' while government officials who perpetuated these abuses get off scot-free."

Trust the plan...
If the elites aren’t careful........
He should have made to pay the legal fees incurred by Carter Page due to his corrupt action.
“Trust the plan...”
Snort. What plan?
John Durham only wanted him to get six months? Barr appointed him.
“Trust Durham.”

GOP lawmakers outraged.... yep, and that’s about all that ever happens. The GOP claims outrage for the cameras and then walks away. It’s always, “Stay tuned.” It’s all Kabuki.
Call me when the GOP ever actually does something, you know, like with Hillary’s emails. Oh, that’s right, they’re busy considering impeaching Trump.
What a joke.
"(My words)"
You can't make this $hit up! That Odunga Judge should be ridiculoued loud and often in every public setting possible.
I certainly hope Carter Page sues the crap out of Clinesmith, and his bosses, and anyone having to do with these FISA court filings, because they all knew they were fradulent (including a few judges).
#NotOneRedCent I am done with the GOP. Finished.
Did he lose his license to practice law?
Laws for thee but not for me.
* Obstruction of Justice
* Perjury
* Falsifying Evidence
* Abusing the Badge
* Extortion under the color of Law
* Perverting the course of Justice
What do you think one of us “deplorables” would get for that?
Kent Hovind got 12 years for “structuring”.
And there’s a “deplorable” facing 14 years in jail for posting a joke containing false election advice.
Meanwhile some 'tarded guy who posted a funny meme will probably get a life sentence.
Speaking of which, what ever happened to the guy who was sent to jail for posting a video on yootoob that was blamed for all the muzzy terrorism in Benghazi even tho' the terrorists themselves had said the video had nothing to do with their long drawn plans?
A year in prison if you engage in free speech, but a slap on the hand for falsifying evidence resulting in the expenditure of millions of taxpayer dollars and federal resources for years for a political witch hunt?
The selling of American Congressional Legislation
THE issue that binds Red and Blue together in the UniParty is the issue of electoral fraud.
Its why certain precincts have voted Red-Blue for over 100 years. It s the means by which Congress and K St lobbyists can guarantee “product delivery” to interests that pay enough.
Various “intelligence agencies” are the enforcement arm. Prolly different ones (there are 17 of them afterall!) supporting different “service lines”
Its mutually assured destruction if either side starts to betray the long-standing inter-generational process.
Whenever the issue starts to bubble too close to the surface
we all start getting entertained with “pizza parties” and “SRA” issues-and other Red-Blue trigger issues-but these are only incidental to the business at hand-the selling of the votes and legislation of the most powerful legislative body in the world.
The contemporary information-digital communications has the ability to put an end to all if this -which is why the “information war” here at home and now on the American electorate.
Probably for about 12 hours. 🤪
Doesn’t matter.
The Left takes care of their casualties/heroes.
He’ll land in some Soros-funded think tank with a 6-figure do-nothing sinecure.
This is to encourage other Leftist “heroes.”
Outrageous, but unfortunately, not in the least bit surprising.
