Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on Friday stated that Democrats cannot “indefinitely” reach out to Republicans, mere days after Democrats took control of the White House and Senate.
“We cannot reach out to Republicans indefinitely. If they choose not to come on board to help the American people now, we have the majority. We should use that majority,” Sanders said alongside a clip of his recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, in which the Vermont senator reiterated the same sentiment.
“Look I think we should do our best to reach out to Republicans, who represent communities that were suffering terribly in terms of unemployment, lack of health care, and other very serious problems. But I don’t think our reaching out should go on indefinitely,” Sanders explained.
“If they chose not to come on board” with the left’s agenda items, Sanders said, Democrats should use their majority status to enact change regardless of the GOP’s support.
“Now I’m going to be chairman of the Budget Committee which handles what we call reconciliation and that as the Senate process by which you can pass, not all kinds of legislation, but a whole lot of very important legislation with a majority vote, not 60 votes,” he continued.
“And it is my view, we should make sure that we address the needs of the American people in that reconciliation bill, and if we pass it with 51 votes, we’ll pass it with 51 votes,” Sanders added:

Hilarious. That’s your place, madman.
20 microseconds should suffice...
This is what Democracy looks like. (Read my tag line)

51 votes?
The old Bolshevik is a ‘Rat?
They actually say this stuff with a straight face.
I have seen no reaching out, only radically left executive orders and threats of post-presidential impeachment trials and deprogramming their opposition, etc. They think they need to ‘deprogram us”. That’s not “reaching out” to us.

I’ve seen plenty of hugs over the last few months...
"chose not to come on board” = Learn to code goose-step.
We know from generations of experience what prog "reaching out" really is.
concentration camps, box cars, prisons, executions, gas chambers, etc.
Not this time "bernie and the jets."
No. Yellow. Brick. Road.
.
I wouldn’t mind reaching out to that mummified communist - from about 200 yards.
The Gov’t can’t continue flagrant fraud waste and abuse TAX dollars forever...
Do raise tax dollars in a minute, but I have seen very few instances of cutting something out to save a dollars and it doesn’t have to be anything difficult but it does have to start.
You know... stupid grants for fish fart studies and what have you.
Don't reach out to them at all. We have nothing in common.
Bernie to 80 million Americans: I won.
What has always bothered me are these “independents”. In my eyes, they (2 of them), were elected as “independents”, By caucusing with either party, they are no longer independent. Why hasn’t the republican party brought this up before? Really a rhetorical question. And don’t get me started on those that switch parties...

You know what? I wish I heard our side speak like this....
