Amnesty for illegal immigrants is bad for American workers, according to a tweet from GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell.
“A proposal to gut immigration enforcement and give blanket amnesty? Rough ‘day one’ for American workers,” said the tweet.
The failed Paris deal will hurt American families while China and Russia grow emissions.
The Keystone cancellation will kill union jobs and hurt U.S. energy security.
And a proposal to gut immigration enforcement and give blanket amnesty?
Rough "day one" for American workers.
— Leader McConnell (@LeaderMcConnell) January 21, 2021
The tweet is McConnell’s first mention of immigration on his Twitter account.
The tweet came as GOP politicians are moving to embrace the populist policies they will need to get reelected in 2022 and 2024, and also to regain a majority in the Senate.
“Before we deal with immigration, we need to … make sure everyone has the chance to find a good job,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said January 19. He added:
America should always welcome immigrants who want to become Americans. But we need laws that decide who and how many people can come here, and those laws must be followed and enforced. There are many issues I think we can work cooperatively with President-elect Biden, but a blanket amnesty for people who are here unlawfully isn’t going to be one of them.
“It is deeply troubling that most of Joe Biden’s first acts as president were to protect illegal immigrants and encourage illegal immigration at the expense of American jobs and workers,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said after Biden announced his amnesty plans.
Other GOP senators focus on regulation, businesses, borrowing, and taxes while ignoring the damaging impact of foreign workers moving into Americans’ jobs.

I agree with your post.
The RNC will be calling during impeachment “talking tough” about the Democrats, but it is just Washington D.C. kabuki theater.
I hate these assholes.
Just came here for the comments. Wasn’t disappointed
What a pathetic, duplicitous, swamp rat. Oh yeah sure he’s all ready to go with super effective plans to stop it in the senate, right Mitch? Should we send you some money too?
Now that he’s in the minority, Mitch can start to act conservative. More Kuwaiti theater from the GOPe
Day Two of ‘America Last.’
Hold on to your butts. Americans!
You’re not alone. I think many of us feel the same way.
He wanted this to happen so he could make more money. He thinks he can continue to fool us. GFY, Mitch, our eyes have been opened.
“A proposal to gut immigration enforcement and give blanket amnesty? Rough ‘day one’ for American workers,”
Let’s translate this from DCSpeak to normal ...
“You need ‘day one’ win right away President Xiden and I am willing to help. You know I couldn’t care less how rough it is for anyone working in America and I’d love to import more slaves that will keep us in power. So, once we agree on the kickbacks, and if President Xi agrees, we will get this done!”
These dirtbags should at least take some acting lessons ... sheesh.
“And how does a new party break through the now-institutionalized vote fraud machine?”
You target ~20 or so solid red districts in states without Chinese voting machines regardless of the Republican running there. You can more than likely win with a MAGA/Patriot candidate in a 3-way race since a Dem typically can’t break 30% or so.
Voters cannot fall for two things :
1> The Republican in the district saying “I am a true Conservative” ... no, they aren’t, or else they’d not be a part of that machine.
2> Believe the onslaught of “you are wasting your vote” ads the Republicans are sure to run. People seem to be sick and frigging tired of the Republicans ... a *real* third party would be a breath of fresh air in these districts.
We’d still have to caucus with Republicans in the House, but ~20 is enough seats to be a pain in their ass.
I think the RNC is going to experience a dip in donations after the farce they pulled. They aren’t expecting to have to spend money in “solid R districts”.
Also, LA has runoffs and doesn’t use Dominion ... it wouldn’t be a bad idea to run candidates in all R districts. GA is the same, but they use Dominion.
Basically build a strategy with those parameters and see what happens. All I know is that we can no longer count on any R for anything. We all have our favorites, but you have to look at them as corrupt and done for. I’m sure some of the good ones will join too.
GOPE loves their cheap labor as do the DEMS to cut their lawns and take care of their kids and work at their wineries and businesses.
Could just as easily turn into instant citizenship.
Take the blinders off, there is no one on the side of the citizens and the rule of law is dead.
Stick it up yer dirty hole Mitch.
Did you notice that the GOP fluffers have made them selves scarce?
Every day Mitch is in leadership is a rough day.
Just last month on December 2nd the senate unanimously voted to import thousands more H1-bs to take American jobs and destroy careers of Americans. And you want to talk about provocation. We got your number, China Mitch.
he and his establishment types can take a flying leap.
YOU chose this Senator!! YOU own it now!! IF you had of cared enough , you knew what was coming down the road. YOU could have stopped it along with the rest of the Republican Senators. BUT YOU DID NOTHING.. You will now pay big!
Senator McTurtle is quaking in his boots.
So now he “cares” about American jobs? Oh that’s funny.
I would be laughing if it weren’t so infuriating and dishonest.
