Warnock and Ossoff won historic Senate seats because of rapidly shifting demographics in key Georgia counties and clear promises of $2,000 stimulus checks

Fulton County, anchored by Atlanta, as well as surrounding Cobb, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Clayton, Henry, and Forsyth counties, provided the nexus of Democratic strength in the runoffs.

In Fulton County, Democrats romped during this election cycle — Biden beat Trump countywide 73% to 26%, banking a nearly 243,000-vote margin on his way to winning the state by about 12,000 votes.

DeKalb and Clayton, with their large middle-class Black populations, have become growing Democratic bulwarks in statewide elections and gave both Ossoff and Warnock well over 80% of the vote in the runoffs.

However, Cobb, Gwinnett, and Henry counties, longtime Republican strongholds, and Forsyth County, which is still conservative, have undergone some of the most dramatic electoral changes in the entire state.

I don’t buy into that thought.

They won because the same games that cost Trump the election,
were put into play again.

I don’t think this was even close on the merits.

Get your numbers right. Trump wanted $2000. Turtle limited it to $600.

All stimulus checks are tax credits, not taxable regardless of your tax bracket.

I agree with the demographics changing being part of the issue, but that is not all of it.

A black candidate with a legit chance to win a first in GA pulls out the black vote.

I've told my friends we err in laughing at Abrams. She's been working to register a lot of black voters. And her efforts have paid off this year and may do so again in 2022 when she runs for gov again.

Kelly was a terrible candidate. Local commercials branded her as Buckhead Barbie. She and Perdue both got killed on their trades whether we agree with the ads or not.

That anti insider sentiment was strong.

Then there was the confusion of the general election itself. How many people posted what's the point in voting. We even had some folks saying not to come out and vote for crying out loud! We were shooting ourselves in the foot.

Warnock will be up for re-election in 2022. He will benefit from Abrams being up for gov so the black vote will be out strong.

A demographic many are overlooking is the Indian vote. They have a large population in Gwinett, Dekalb, Forsyth. They vote very liberal as they are here for the free stuff.

Now the GOP will also have to deal with a primaried gov and sos. Both Kemp and Raffelsburger will be primaried so there will be infighting in the party. That may not help unless conservatives are so fed up with the two they get them out of the way.

IF either are on the ballot in November 2022 GA may go blue.

Correct, there ARE income limits as to who gets the checks.
But if you get the check in any amount it is 100% tax free.

Demographics is destiny.

I wonder why this phenomenon is happening? Here in Texas, they say the transplants will eventually turn this state blue. And the noise is that this momentum is transpiring across this nation.

If this were truly taking place, then the areas the leftists come from would be turning red...not the case. I feel communist tendencies are multiplying, combined with election fraud.

Barky did project Texas would turn into a swing state. Whenever a progressive makes an announcement, it inevitably comes true. Saddens me.

Disagree with you on the Indians being here for the “free stuff.” They have the highest per capita income in the US: https://gulfnews.com/world/americas/indians-in-america-make-100000-on-average-highest-earning-ethnic-group-1.1569215954674.

I live in the state with the largest Indian population in the US. Yes, they are heavily Dem (conservatives of the heart, liberals of the brain). But the GOP or any “nationalist” party would be stupid not to campaign among them. Not enough white guys to put us over the top anymore. That’s reality.

Were’s muy stim’lus check? I gots ta get to da liquor store.

You got in ahead of about 10,000 FReepers to ask that. Only kidding. It was 5,000.

But "Where's my government money?" is the big question asked in America. Used to be sayings such as "...ask what you can do your for your country" or "....Sweet land of liberty" and "In God We Trust."

I am assuming you are not aware of the fact that people in USA with Indian ethnicity have higher net worth than any other ethnic group including American born whites. I can only tell you about why I was a democrat supporter when I arrived here as a graduate student in engineering curriculum. It was mainly because the democrats gave me the false impression of being the more inclusive party. They preached "big tent" and all that. I was admirer of JFK and followed LBJ. But soon I realized democrats were keeping me from advancing into upper middle class via progressive taxation. And I have voted republican in every election since 1972. But not everyone is as intelligent as me in figuring out the truth quickly. Republicans/conservatives need to do a better job of public relations.

Abrams will be the next Governor of GA unless she ends up as Kamala’s Vice President.

Yep. I would also add the insane amount of brainwashing the kids have been under. Those were mostly white kids (esp. girls) at those BLM protests.
