CNN anchor Don Lemon said Wednesday night on his show that Americans who voted for President Donald Trump were on the side of “the Klan” and “Nazis.”
Lemon said, “We’ve got to get down to the nitty-gritty of what this is. And it is about what I said, and I standby it, preserving whiteness in the worst possible way. If you find yourself, Chris, in a crowd and the person next to you is carrying a Confederate battle flag or the person next to you has on a neo-Nazi symbol of some type or has on a ‘Camp Auschwitz’ then in your mind wouldn’t you say my goodness, I have made the wrong decision I need to get out of here?”

That apparently is the talking point going around, so even your neighbor might think that of you if you are a Trump supporter. I had a little discussion about that yesterday on a local social media page.
I know there are some cranks out there on our side, just as there are cranks on every side. I wonder, though, if Lemon is concerned with the red hammer-and-sickle flags I have seen at Leftist rallies. Is he concerned with the Democrat candidate for mayor of Portland, OR who has a skirt adorned with images of Marx, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao. Hell, is he concerned with the ever-popular Che t-shirts? I know people who have lived under communism and had family members who died under communism’s holocaust. How does the Left have a moral blindspot to that? An inconvenient truth, perhaps?
To be dead honest, the people he is blind to represent his side infinitely more than a random “white supremacist” represents ours. I read the white nationalist sites. One common concern for them is whether they have enough people to even have a movement. White people are just not interested in it. Maybe it’s because the overwhelming majority of white people find Nazis and the Klan repulsive. Of course, to ignorant bigots such as Lemon, if you are white, and not one of the good honkeys on his side, then you are a white supremacist by default.
