Sen. Joe Manchin, West Virginia Democrat, is open to adding two new states — the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
The liberal push to add the District and Puerto Rico comes as Democrats see adding U.S. Senate seats from those jurisdictions as providing them with a firmer grasp on control of Congress.

Why stop there?
Why not just go whole-hog and add Haïti and the Dominican Republic as well?
Why would the Democrats agree to that? That’s not in their interest. No compromise.
4 new Democrat $inators from now to eternity.
They don’t even need him they have Murkowski.
Won’t it require an amendment to the Constitution to make DC a state?
Well, the subway rats sure seem to like it LOL!
Isn’t she a nutcase?
Says she won’t join the Dems, but has no choice: it’s either one or the other in DC.
“Independents” are not a natural species in the Senate.
Show the POS the videos of what Mittens Romney and Linda Graham just got from We the People.
There seems to be a common element in the replies to this thread compared to others regarding the Insurrection Act and last nights goings on in Italy/Berlin/Pakistan.
Fact is the administration change on either 1/19 or 1/20 or 1/21 will be from Trump’s first term to Trump’s second. There will be no DC or PR statehood, for at least 4 years... and with the decimation of the deep state, perhaps a lot longer than that (until the Deep state rebuilds)
No, the plan is to shrink DC to the mall and surrounding government buildings and then make the remaining area a new state. I dont see how anyone would think it fair to give a city 2 senators.
Doesn’t this take super majority vote in both houses? Doesn’t the Constitution (I know, don’t laugh) require 2 new states at the same time?
If you have been in DC outside of the federal building district and NW, or PR outside of Old San Juan, you know that these incipient states are complete shitholes and deep welfare sinks.
On the other hand, the rest of the country will look like them in 30 years.
The good thing about adding these states is that the resulting 52-state empire of debt wouldn’t be worth loving or preserving, and I’ll have no remorse in turning my back on it.
Yeah. I wonder if he bothered to ask his constituents in WV what THEY think about this...
At least he will have a place to hide
“Welcome to Free Republic”... No, I’m LOL! at that remark dude.
Still, it doesn’t look like Trump has won over any state legislatures. So he’s been “fairly” cheated, as Nixon may have said about Kennedy’s win.
The don’t just dislike them...
Yikes! I was hoping 60.
“And so it begins. The Dems have decided this is their time to insure one-party rule at the national level.”
4 more Democrat senators? who cares? the important thing is that we taught the “RINO’s” a lesson by not voting in the Senate runoffs.

Does it? Are you sure?
