Sen. Joe Manchin, West Virginia Democrat, is open to adding two new states — the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
The liberal push to add the District and Puerto Rico comes as Democrats see adding U.S. Senate seats from those jurisdictions as providing them with a firmer grasp on control of Congress.

It does not require an action by the other states. Congress can admitting a new state with a simple majority vote and signature of the president. If the democrats want PR to be a state it will be one by the end of the year.
Once the peasant blm’s realise they are no longer needed....then it will get interesting. The same can be said of the second amendment democrat voters who proclaimed, “they won’t get my guns.”

From what I read that would not apply to Puerto Rico only DC. So I believe DC is a no go from the git go. But PR would be quick and immediately add two new Senators.
They’ll have to name it “Anarchy” - as that is state in which this nation shall then find itself.

Except for DC which would require a Constitutional Amendment.

An amendment is not a requirement.
Roberts is one of them - and always has been so.
Lets see if Biden can be effective. Looking back on past performance he cannot be. The hate for trump will be on the next focal point in the next 90 days.
The problem is that the residents in the White House would have 3 electoral votes unless we repeal the 23rd Amendment.

How about we make it a state if we give all of northern VA to DC, which would make VA a red state again. I’d even throw in a strip all the way down to Richmond. After all, any new state should have at least two significant cities…
