Attorney General William Barr, in the weeks before November’s election, instructed prosecutors and senior colleagues to prevent word of investigations into Hunter Biden from becoming public and keep the Justice Department out of campaign politics, according to people familiar with the matter.
Mr. Barr took more steps than previously reported to insulate the investigations, despite calls from President Trump and Republican allies to announce a probe involving President-elect Joe Biden’s son Hunter.

Well sure, why should the voters know they are electing a crook?

Isn’t it strange how everything negative related to Trump was leaked within hours, but this was kept top secret for months without a single leak? My bet is that the media was well aware of it, but since they were openly campaigning for Biden they didn’t let it see the light of day.
Politics in this case is the pres campaign working with and for and Influence peddling, blackmailed by a state dept declared enemy of state foreign country.

It’s not a one-sided decision. Sharing the information could influence the election... not sharing relevant information has the same effect.

Yea..so folks shouldn’t know one of the candidates has been compromised by communist.
When taken to task over it, he’ll just smirk and say “Well, it worked, didn’t it?”
I wouldn’t object to that, except someone sat on the evidence for one or two years before that.
AND during the impeachment when it was directly relevant.
My guess is the FBI hid the significance of this from Barr.
But revealing something just prior to an election is fine. Failing to prosecute crooks 2 years before an election was a cover up.

Typo - I wrote that not revealing thisright before an election is ok.
But hiding it for 2 years was a cover up.
And what about now? We have a compromised crook about to enter the White House.
As others have said, how is that the “right” thing? That is withholding information about a potential president of the country. Does the public NOT have the right to know if a candidate is corrupt and possibly compromised by a foreign government? Since when does running for political office make a person immune from investigation?
