A Pennsylvania elementary school principal has filed a lawsuit against the school district that fired her after she shared on her Facebook page conservative memes, including one that read it is better to vote for a potato than Joe Biden.
Veteran educator Amy Sacks, principal of Evergreen Elementary School in the Perkiomen Valley School District, where she has worked for 20 years, posted a number of conservative memes to her Facebook page, which can be viewed in the report at the Daily Mail.

According to the report, her lawsuit claims the school district superintendent told Sacks that her posts were offensive to a parent who reported them.
After having been fired in July, Sacks posted on Thanksgiving Day, ‘Many of you know that I am no longer the Principal of Evergreen Elementary at this time.”
“However, the circumstances surrounding this situation have been kept quiet until now,” she said.
Ott-Sacks added that her superintendent, Barbara Russell, “decided that the First Amendment Freedom of Speech has no place in public schools and that teachers and administrators are unfit to serve if they hold and express political beliefs that are right of center.”
She continued, according to the report:
I am reaching out to you today to share with you that as Principal of Evergreen Elementary School I was terminated because I expressed right of center political views – PRIVATELY.

Facebook isn't private. Anything you put out into the ether that is the Internet is public domain. If this was a private conversation with say a colleague, peer, or superior behind closed doors, you could make the claim it's private, but then it's a he said/she said.
If she had said that about Trump she would’ve been promoted.
Regardless, it was simply a political view made outside the purview of her work.....

If she used it on her own FB account, there should be NO problem. This is what the story implies. However, if she posted it on the School FB page, it could be an issue.
Nonetheless, what she did is protected by the First Amendment. Hope she wins her lawsuit.
She meant that she didn’t do something like put it on the school district’s website, for example. It was just like somebody nailing her for a private conversation - not secret, simply personal and not in an official work environment - which theoretically an employer shouldn’t be doing.
The SCHOOLS! I’m telling you, if we don’t fix the schools, anything else we do is just wasting time.
I hope this woman becomes very wealthy at the taxpayer expense. Maybe, but not likely, this will get their attention.

I blame the administration for caving in. They are cowards.

This is why the Supreme Court needs to Abolish the Fake Qualified Immunity protections they created in 1982. When These Scofflaws are held personnaly accountable for their actions, then we will be on a level playing field and this crap will end overnight
