because I expressed right of center political views – PRIVATELY.

Facebook isn't private. Anything you put out into the ether that is the Internet is public domain. If this was a private conversation with say a colleague, peer, or superior behind closed doors, you could make the claim it's private, but then it's a he said/she said.

Regardless, it was simply a political view made outside the purview of her work.....

She should be able to stand in the middle of the town square and scream it.....

Facebook is radioactive. Stay away from it.

If she used it on her own FB account, there should be NO problem. This is what the story implies. However, if she posted it on the School FB page, it could be an issue.

Nonetheless, what she did is protected by the First Amendment. Hope she wins her lawsuit.

She meant that she didn’t do something like put it on the school district’s website, for example. It was just like somebody nailing her for a private conversation - not secret, simply personal and not in an official work environment - which theoretically an employer shouldn’t be doing.

Every time you post on Facebook, there should be a popup Miranda warning that you have to click through.

"Anything you say can and will be used against you."

But facebook is a private site. That is the excuse libertarians on this site use to defend Fecesbook when they censor conservatives, suspend their accounts in advance of the election “just because”, or downthrottle their page views.

It’s still a Free Speech issue. Should never be fired over something like that. It’s ridiculous.

She meant “privately” as in “as a private citizen, unconnected with my job.”

She will get a large settlement, the school district’s lawyer won’t let this go to court.

A pox on that jackass “offended” parent.
