Rep. Dan Crenshaw faced the wrath of fellow conservatives including Newsmax host Michelle Malkin for calling out a Georgia lawyer who recommended Republican voters skip next month’s Senate contests.
Mr. Crenshaw, a Texas Republican and former Navy SEAL, shared a video on social media Thursday showing the attorney, L. Lin Wood, suggesting fellow Georgians boycott the upcoming special elections.
“They have not earned your vote. Don’t you give it to them. Why would you go back and vote in another rigged election, for God’s sake?” Mr. Wood said in the video Mr. Crenshaw shared on Twitter.
“Lin Wood is a Democrat that wants Republicans to self-destruct,” Mr. Crenshaw said in the Twitter post. “He just wants your donations for his legal fees. He’s a grifter.”
Ms. Malkin, a conservative blogger who started the Twitchy website, replied to that post by referring to the eye patch Mr. Crenshaw wears as a result of losing an eye fighting in Afghanistan.
“Dan Crenshaw is a globalist John McCain in an eyepatch who loves to party hardy while our country burns,” Ms. Malkin tweeted. “PROTECT OUR ELECTION SYSTEM & OUR COUNTRY, NOT THE GOP SWAMP!”
Rep. Eric Swalwell, California Democrat, was quick to come to his Republican colleague’s defense on Twitter afterward.

An article said a writer's dread is having someone at a party tell them "I used to love reading your columns before they went behind the paywall."
Michelle Malkin, former Nevertrumper
“Seems to me Crenshaw and Trump see eye-to-eye on this.”
I know, but considering Crenshaw’s well-deserved crappy reputation with the base, he would be doing the Georgia Senators a BIG FAVOR by keeping his mouth shut.

The solutions aren’t obvious, even if we pretend they are. But we must try. Let’s start with the TAPS Act. Maybe also implement state “red flag” laws, or gun violence restraining orders. Stop them before they can hurt someone.

Georgia Republicans absolutely SHOULD vote in the runoff.
They better have more of a plan than just voting, though.
Show up using a baseball bat as a cane. Vote SLOWLY. Hang around and watch everything.
Poll-watchers better handcuff themselves to the voting machines.
This fake “controversy” is the extent of the coverage America’s Democrat lapdogs are going to give this.
There won’t be any need for Red Flag laws if you guys get your way and the Democrats run the Senate. We’ll have as much gun ownership as Japan...which is ZERO.
Crenshaw is also a big butt buddy with Eric Swalwell
Never trust a trial attorney who substitutes political statements for legal arguments. Lin Wood seriously damaged his credibility shortly after Election Day when he called on Kelly Loeffler to resign and for Gov. Kemp to appoint Doug Collins to replace her.
It seems clear to me what is driving Wood here. He’s a Collins supporter who is still butt-hurt because Kemp didn’t appoint him to fill that Senate seat when Sen. Isakson retired.
I agree with you on this one. TRUST TRUMP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then this guy is talking out of two sides of his mouth! Can't have it both ways.
Trust Trump.
Don’t trust Dan Crenshaw.
Suggesting conservatives not vote for these two GA Senate candidates is nonsense. And, no, I don't care about what either has or hasn't done in support of Trump. They are much needed in the Senate in any case.
I am torn about Lin Wood, as he seemed to revel a bit too much at the “press conference” he had with Sidney Powell. I do not trust Crenshaw. On more than one occasion, he has taken a side in a public way he did not have to do. The fact that Eric S. is sticking up for him is telling.
“Crenshaw is also a big butt buddy with Eric Swalwell”
I hear you, and he’s also tone-deaf to the base. I’m sickened by having him on my side to keep the Senate Republican...but I’m not changing my view on it because of him.
Between Lin Wood, Dan Crenshaw & Michelle Malkin. One of them I trust completely - Michelle Malkin.
FReepers have the tools and knowledge to bypass that. If not, learn.
I’ve never been one to jump on board when when everyone else
is swooning. Perhaps the most egregious example by some folks
reasoning would be my reluctance to fully jump on board the
Sarah Palin chuck-wagon.
It wasn’t a matter of fully disliking her. I just wasn’t
inclined to grab my male pom poms, and join in the cheer-
leading.
One reason for this was what I observed in the 1990s. So
many politicians and talking heads sounded as if they were
one of us, when the Clinton scandals continued to leak out.
Some of them were very popular with us in the day.
Then Bush became president, and boy did some their colors
change. Then with Trump, just wow...
I learned to be a little more reluctant to fully back
people. I will still support them if I think they aren’t
being treated fairly, and I’ll back them when it makes
sense, but all in? I do that less and less.
When McCain and his people mistreated Palin, it made me
quite angry. I spoke up in her defense. She didn’t deserve
that after doing more work during his run than he did. It
just proved what a jackass he was. She was pretty gracious
about the whole thing too. And in review, she was very
good at campaigning for him. She deserved kudos for her
efforts. Sure didn’t get them from him. What an A. H.
When it came to Dan, it wasn’t something I could put my
finger on. It was just that everyone seemed to jump on the
band-wagon right off. That somewhat worried me. I don’t
like to see that. It’s okay to praise the things you like
and support him when you can. I encourage that. I just
don’t like the insinuation that he deserves ‘blank check’
support. (Not trying to insult anyone who supported him.)
I can see why some folks did.
One of the reasons why I don’t fully back folks, is that it
gives them too much power to hurt you. If a lot of folks
respect the person, they’re a lot more likely to trust what
they say, and that can hurt you.
If Dan did say things detrimental to Trump’s efforts right
now, it’s unfortunate. I’m not clear that he did. He may
or may not have. That will surface.
Seeing how our Congressional people sell us out over time,
I’ve become quite jaundiced to fully support just about
anyone.
I have to re-evaluate often.
