Jim, I lost my wife Shirley Faye to cancer about three weeks ago. We were married 46 years. It’s very hard for me, so I know what you are going through. I’ve been watching the cancer progress for three years, so I had a lot of time to get ready, but I wasn’t ready. I took her to the ER to have fluid drained. She was looking forward to trying chemo the following week, but she had a heart attack in the hospital at 3 AM. God was merciful to us both, as she was too far gone for chemo. She was saved 50 years ago, but told me she wasn’t ready to die, as she had more souls to save. Freerepublic has been a blessing to Shirley and me. God bless you and your family. Sheila and Shirley are with Jesus in Paradise now. Somehow we will go on, as have wives and husbands for thousands of years before us. But I know you are missing your Sheila very much right now.
Jim, my heart goes out to you and your family. You have been strong for all of us all these past years, and although I’m on the other side of the country and can’t give you a hug in person, I can pray that the Lord gives you, and your family the strength to see you through the days ahead. I just lost a a longtime friend of 40 years. Alzheimer's took him one month ago.
After visiting him 4 & 5 times a week for the last couple of years I now MISS HIM but I also KNOW that he is NEW AGAIN and is no longer afflicted.
Your beloved wife is also now NEW AGAIN.
Keep in mind it's GOD'S reward to each of us. Your wife, Sheila, no longer knows or experiences the suffering and pain of sickness in this life.
Praise GOD... she is NEW AGAIN and you'll will see her AGAIN when you too become NEW AGAIN. It's GOD'S gift to ALL who know Him.
May GOD BLESS you and heal your entire family in this time of loss.

I’m sorry to hear this. This family has done quite a lot for their country, IMHO.
