Space Cadets?
“I HATE manure!”
I know, wrong movie, but just as good as “service equals citizenship”.
LOL at the Starship Troopers meme.
Of course, Space Force is not really about blowing up bugs on other planets. It’s about defending US satellites, US space launches, and potentially knocking Chinese and Russian and other countries’ weapons in space out of orbit on a path to the sun, or capturing them in a shuttle and bringing them back to earth for analysis by US military.
I’m not sure if we have weaponized space lasers like Star Wars yet. Maybe we have. Would be cool to watch some Communist Chinese satellites blow up.
I would like to know more...
Geeks in gym class?
I could do a lot of pullups if I was weightless!
Ultimate high ground. We need to OWN it.
Like the post WWII mentality “We need to make the Pacific an American LAKE.”
Lackland............ spent 2 years there in 62 & 63. In 64 I got transferred to far northern Japan and put in the middle of the cold war!!!
(I know, I know, they'll be playing video games as scope dopes).
I hope they teach celestial navigation and how to copulate efficiently in space.
Well, you can’t use an M16 in space.
5.56mm
I still believe that the Space Force Commanding General ought to be named Buck Rogers!
Good for them.
A couple of questions:
Do they need to shave their neck beards?
What are the chances that the uniform will get them chicks?
And finally, how absurd will it be to have the Air Force guys calling the SF guys nerds. And can a Coastie give them a hard time? Nah.
“They needed to know they were different”
In boot camp???
Hahahaha...love those kinds of references...:)
American taxpayers are now on the hook funding a military agency whose jurisdiction is everything above the earth’s atmosphere extending out to the edge of the universe. Nice goin.
Why change that because this is essentially still the same until USSC gets their own identity and their own infrastructure in a clean break.
Just move them to Vandenberg and do basic there. The Army did that with MOS specific training like artillery going to Fort Sill for both basic and AIT. It is cost effective and it works. The USAF already has the tech school infrastructure at Vandenberg, basic would just add 7 1/2 weeks to that.
