One of my favorite movies is “Gattaca”, and one of the main characters (played by Jude Law) is a genetically engineered perfect man, except he got hit by a car and can’t use his legs and is confined to a wheelchair.
So he sells his “perfect pedigree” to a guy who wasn’t genetically engineered who wants to get a spot in the astronaut force for a long term mission to mars.
At some point in the movie, he wryly points out that he and his perfect engineering and intellect should have been chosen, because he wouldn’t be using his legs in space...
