Joe Biden celebrates Indigenous People’s Day on Columbus Day

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden released a statement on Columbus Day that instead celebrates Indigenous People’s Day — an emerging rival to the federal holiday.

Biden’s statement made no mention of the Italian discoverer Christopher Columbus and Biden spokesmen did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether he also is celebrating Columbus Day.

Biden’s statement on Monday said, “Our nation has never lived up to our full promise of equality for all — especially not when it comes to the rights of the indigenous people who were here long before ships arrived from Europe.”

A lot of Italian-American votes in Philly. Dissing them should hurt Biden in PA as much as lying about fracking.

If he thinks it’s a mistake that white people landed in America, when’s he leaving?

Our schools don’t even teach American history anymore. It’s sad.

This liar just said that nominating a supreme court justice has never happened before in a presidential election year. It has happened 29 time; 17 successfully. Biden is a moron and a POSA liar.

“Indigenous People” were primitive people who emigrated from Asia and didn't build America or western civilization, and have wanted to remain separate from it.

The idea of celebrating them is absurd, but the Left’s real goal is to tear down any images of America that prevent the Left from remaking America in their perverted vision.

“Our schools don’t even teach American history anymore. It’s sad.”

It’s a tragedy.

I’m old enough to remember that as a schoolgirl, we stood up every morning and recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag that was hanging in the schoolroom.

There is nothing to apologize for, Mr. Biden. I’ve been to Mexico and was stunned to see armed guards, lined up with machine guns, around every government building.

That is not who Americans are.

Biden needs to get a clue.

I’ll bet that most government workers showed up for work today to protest Columbus Day right?

I celebrate Columbus Day on Columbus Day. It stands to reason that a flake like Joe Biden is buying in on the leftist idea that Christopher Columbus did something wrong. Biden is a joke and I would not vote for him even if nobody was running against him. To answer questions with ‘the voters don’t have the right to know’ is a giant mistake. He should do a little thinking before he shoots off his mouth. Initially, I thought he was okay. Now I have a different opinion. He is a horse’s ass!

A lot of Italian-American votes in Philly.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity for a targeted campaign ad.

Alas, the ‘indigenous’ people were doomed the moment the first ships from Europe arrived in the New World. Had Columbus never been born they would have been here in 1500.

The stone age Indians were simply no match for the Europeans. It was really a matter of economics as well as technology. 100 acres could support more Europeans than Indians.

Weaker societies have always been pushed aside by stronger ones. It happened in the Americas long before the Europeans arrived for that matter. Did the Indians suffer a raw deal, sure. Can anyone create a fictional scenario where they don’t get a raw deal? I sure can’t

The native Americans lived in a state of barbarism and slavery and constant warfare; that’s the truth. They only appeared noble when they acknowledged we were in total control over them.

“Indigenous People” were primitive people who emigrated from Asia and didn't build America or western civilization, and have wanted to remain separate from it.

And they were constantly fighting with each other and horrifically tortured their captives. But not all want to remain separate. My 1/2 Indian son-in-law (Mohawk tribe) and full Indian brother-in-law (Osage tribe) are proud Americans.

Indigenous Peoples Day! What great thing did the Indians do to make Oct 25 memorable?

Columbus found a continent between Europe and Asia. and if he had not found it, it would still have been found eight years later by Pedro Cabral.

If the Indians want a day I would suggest June 25, 1876. They earned that day and no one can hijack the Little Big Horn battle.

Or Aug 10, 1680. The Pueblo Indians kicked Spanish butt all the way back to the Rio Grande.

Columbus Day honors Italian Americans who were lynched by the Democrat KKK in 1891 New Orleans.
