A militia group planned to violently depose Michigan’s government and abduct Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), the FBI said in a federal affidavit filed Thursday.
"Several members talked about murdering 'tyrants' or 'taking' a sitting governor," an FBI agent wrote in the affidavit, obtained by the Detroit News. "The group decided they needed to increase their numbers and encouraged each other to talk to their neighbors and spread their message."
Federal prosecutors plan to make a fuller statement on the alleged plot later Thursday, according to the newspaper.
At least five men have been charged in connection with the alleged plot, identified as Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta, according to the affidavit.

If that were true these ‘clever’ right wing trixters would be in jail faster than you can say “molitov coctail”.
The fact that these groups can deploy to any city in the U.S. on a moments notice, without being investigate by the FBI, or have their communications intercepted by the NSA, and no DA or AG in any democrat city will touch them with an 9 mile poll, says absolutely otherwise. particularly that last point.
As I remember it, almost every single FBI expose over the past several decades has been the result of undercover agents promoting or inciting some members of a group to commit some sort of action... Every group of humans always has a few who are far more susceptible to manipulation than others...
Few FBI headline operations have been the result of good "detective" work to solve a crime committed or an independently (free of FBI influence) developed plan stuck to the blackboard...
This operation is just another communist deep-state attack...

Of course, I don't want to buck the unquestionable Free Republic conventional wisdom that any FBI action is a Deep State Plot(tm). Who cares if they were actively training for combat, infiltration, and exfiltration? Or that their physical opsec was rather good? Or that they purchased an 800kv taser to disable the Governor so as to take her alive?
