California Parents ‘Strike’ by Logging Their Kids Off Zoom Classes
Epoch Times ^ | Oct 2 2020 | By Jack Bradley

A Zoom “strike,” in which parents withdrew their children from distance learning, swept across California the week of Sept. 28 to Oct. 2. It called for in-person classes to fully resume, as many schools across the state continue distance learning or only short periods of in-person teaching.

Joseph Chang of Kern County was one of the parents who “Zoomed out.” He recently posted a photo on social media of his second-grade daughter crying in front of a computer, and it went viral.

“I had literally people around the entire country and around the world reaching out to me,” Chang told The Epoch Times.

His daughter’s teacher was herself on the verge of crying due to difficulties with the online class format, and she ended the class early.

“Children are crying because they can see their teacher, but can’t hear her, or they can hear their classmates, but not see them,” Chang said. “Or they raise their hands, but they can’t get called because the teachers can’t see them.”

One silver lining about this Covid thing is that the kids and parents are spending more time together. And the way things are going we know not what tomorrow brings. So if your kids are at home, hug them and cherish this time.

None of that matters, because there is nothing worse than having another Covid case. Absolutely every other issue must get sidelined, and questionable solutions must never be questioned. Even averting a nuclear holocaust is not as important as bringing the number of positive Covid tests to zero. To think otherwise is heartless.

Except mostly peaceful left-wing protests. And getting rid of Orange Man. Those things must be encouraged at all costs.

another thing is that in sf bay at least xfinity comcast is being overloaded with all the bug videoconferencing going on. apparently the internet infrastructure is being stretched past the breaking point. businesses cannot presume that people can just stay at home and phone it in using videoconferencing.

Then stop paying property taxes, taxes which go to pay for schools. Yet Prop. 15 is meant to increase property taxes for what? To keep schools closed? Parents are currently being forced to do "distance" learning through the internet, but what if parents don't have or cannot afford internet access and have several children, each needing a separate computer for "distance" learning? Paying property taxes for schools that are closed? Nonsense!

Schools are paid by the state and counties for pupils that show up for school attendance. There is currently no attendance, so who is getting paid and why prop. 15 to increase taxes for schools? This is MADNESS. Stop the CRAP, don't conform, home school and tell the state to F off.

Home school.

Obviously, if the parents are home to "log them off of Zoom" then they could be homeschooling them. But, they won't. That's the states' responsibility. But, these are the same parents that will moan and groan about how the public school is doing a lousy job, and they could do better.

They pay taxes for this and they are not getting what they paid for.

This COVID non-sense is killing people and stripping away our rights worse than the disease.

Demand a refund of taxes. Quit accepting and tolerating tyranny.

Loudoun County, Virginia, came up with a brilliant solution for just such a scenario. They have those students come to the school and get online there for distance learning. Seriously.

The public schools are educating their children to the best of their abilities under the current circumstances. They are getting what they paid for. If they refuse to accept it, that's their problem. They are are paying for an education for their children, and not baby-sitting services. This is the 21st century. Online education in public schools is long overdue. It's been alive and well in colleges for years now.

This COVID non-sense is killing people and stripping away our rights worse than the disease.

We could have overcome covid months ago. Ten days is all it would take. But, since we had a bunch of self-centered nit-wits walking around thinking that their hunger for the almighty dollar was more important than the lives of the sensitive population, it still remains. However, in my county, it's practically life as normal. We are a small, low-population county, and the virus attacked us personally. Most of the people who died here were known by most everyone. I personally knew about half of the people who died in the nursing homes by name. So, when it came time to wear the masks, we wore the masks. We social-distanced. We were considerate of each other. Now, that our case count has been down around 20 now for some time, we don't have to wear the masks. People are no longer dying in the nursing homes here. Most businesses never closed, and the ones that did, have been back open for some time now. We looked out for each other when it counted. That's how we overcame covid. We didn't make believe it didn't exist or that it wasn't deadly. We killed it, and continue killing it by not giving it a place to live.

In Maryland students can go to a YMCA to sit in a room with a person who helps them with their distance learning. This cost $225 per week per child. Wealthy people probably have their children taken care of elsewhere. Low income people can get “scholarships.” Once again middle income people who work and pay taxes will have to pay for this as well.

Initially one county was even going to use classrooms in their elementary schools for this. I cannot understand why they cannot just go to school.

membership in the HSDLA (home school defense and legal association) has at least doubled. And they had online classes K-12 available for those who wanted to sign up.

You know exactly nothing about digital learning and the effects on children’s eyes and brains. This is the second biggest hoax next to Covid - and is literally programming children’s brains for failure at an even greater rate than the criminal enterprise known as public schooling of the past 40 years.
