BETHESDA, Md. — President Donald Trump declared, “I get it,” in a message to the nation Sunday evening before briefly leaving the hospital to salute cheering supporters from his motorcade, a surprising move that raised new questions about the president’s understanding of the coronavirus that has killed more than 209,000 Americans.
“It’s been a very interesting journey. I learned a lot about COVID,” Trump said, standing in his hospital room in a video posted on social media. “I learned it by really going to school.” He added, “I get it, and I understand it.”
Before the video was posted, the infected president cruised by supporters in his bulletproof SUV, windows rolled up, driven by Secret Service agents in protective gear who were potentially exposed to the disease that has swept through the White House in recent days.
“This is insanity,” tweeted Dr. James P. Phillips, an attending physician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where Trump has been hospitalized since Friday evening. “Every single person in the vehicle during that completely unnecessary presidential ‘drive-by’ just now has to be quarantined for 14 days. They might get sick. They may die,” the doctor wrote. “For political theater. Commanded by Trump to put their lives at risk for theater.”

Here’s Dr. Phillips acting as a political advocate. He’s furious about the whole situation, insinuates the docs have to do as they’re told since Trump in CiC. Plus gets into the whole timeline issue- when Trump knew and that he continued meeting with people...then made docs lie about timeline..
Also soldiers risk diseases, drowning, gunshot, aircraft crash, concussions, heat stroke, parasites, various waterborne diseases, malaria, etc.
They run that risk and often lose the gamble FOR THE WELL-BEING OF THE NATION.
A President wants to sent a message that he is in good shape to rioters, enemies, friends, supporters, those who would try to launch a coup, etc. Him making that trip probably does involve a very small risk to his Secret Service guys.
But there is significant national interest in him not being sequestered in a hospital ward for 2 weeks, and it isn’t all just domestic politics.
Those secret service men, like US Soldiers, ran a small risk to their own health for the national good. I am sure they mitigated it as well as they could. But you don’t become a member of his protective detail to stay safe.
That’s my take on it.
What Trump really got was that we were there for him. I took mrs. jimfree back out (we had been there earlier 6a to 10a) for the 5:00 prayer service. Just before the service the traffic stopped as police cleared Wisconsin Avenue. The crowd quieted a bit in anticipation. A few minutes later, the motorcade.

I'd have to say without a doubt. However, in California, for Dianne Feinstein and her Chinese chauffeur/communist party spy ... glass would be quite the hindrance to leaking government affairs being discussed in the back seat.
Do we know whether Trump’s SS detail has already had Covid-19 so they are not vulnerable nor carriers?
I don’t know. Does Dr. Phillips know? I’m betting he didn’t ask before spouting off.
I ask because it would be a logical step to rotate agents onto the POTUS’ detail who had acquired immunity.
Even if they drove straight to the White House the same agents would have been exposed.

That doctor apparently does not know or does not care that the likelihood of any one of those in Trumps car of NOT dying if the test positive is 99.xxxxxxx%, with the .xxxxxxxx values depending on their age. I seriously doubt any one who is the jobs of moving job around are age 70+ and/or with a major comorbidity. AND IF THEY WERE, their success rate of defeating the virus is something like 94.xxxxxxx%.
I guess the doctor’s main source of Covid-19 information is ABC/CBS/CNN/MSNBC/NBC/NPR.
Yes.... all but around 10k died ‘with the Kung flu’ or died ‘presumed of the Kung flu’ - but very few actually died ‘of’ the Kung flu.

Been a volunteer at WR for awhile now. 1st started as a Red Cross volunteer and they put me on the amputation ward. Ward 52. “The Snake Pit”
Saw the blank stares of new amputees and their families. But I also saw the the grads march with their amputations telling the newbie it’s gonna be OK.
It was amazing to see how much hope the grads gave the men and their families.
Now I just work with a church group that brings W.R. food on the weekends.
