In a new poll of 1006 likely voters nationwide, former Vice-President Joe Biden holds on to a two-point lead over President Donald Trump, 49% to 47% with 4% not sure. The random sample online poll was taken on Friday beginning after 7 PM and has an overall margin-of-sampling error of +/-3.2 percentage points.
Our July 8th poll showed Biden leading Trump 49% to 42% and the previous poll released on August 29th had Biden leading by six points (48% to 42%).

The polls released during the last week of the 2016 campaign showed Clinton beating Trump by 4% in Pennsylvania; 5% in Michigan; 7% in Wisconsin. Trump won all those states and pollsters have been trying to determine why they were so far off ever since...:-)

This poll has to terrify the shit out of Dems. So lets see - their registrations are down compared to Pubs, Trump enthusiasm is through the roof, and in a national poll Biden is only up 2 %. It basically mirrors the results of the last election. I keep hearing that enthusiasm against Trump is the driving force. This plan does not usually work out well - see Mitt Romney 2012. He was a sucky candidate but the Republicans were coming off the 2010 and hated Obama. It didn’t matter.
I hope not, joe would not survive it.

The polls only got close in pretty much the very last week of polling, so the pollsters didn't look too bad when Trump won. They were essentially covering their butts.
As well, I’m not sure how the RCP average in 2016 was calculated, but looking at the polls themselves, Clinton essentially opened up a ten point lead the following week in 2016:
If this poll is accurate, Trump will win the Electoral College.

The media treated that nomination as illegal, unethical and Barrett as a dangerous religious radical. It stirred up a hornet’s nest of rage on the left. The media covered it in their hysterical way 24/7.
The good thing is the hysteria doesn’t last and they are already back on the covid hysteria now...:-) Can’t wait to see their next “hair on fire” issue...:-)
If Zogby is reporting a 49 to 47 for Biden, it’s really a 55 45 for Trump. 8>)
Look, people are getting beat up, fired from their job, businesses burned to the ground, assaulted, if not killed, all because they support Donald Trump.
As bad as it was in 2016, nothing tops what is happening right now to anyone who dares show any type of support for DT. Thus those poll numbers are more off-kilter than 4 years ago.
Gone are the days when you can tell a pollster "I support that person", and just go about your business. There is fear of retribution, unlike anything I've ever seen.
The RCP average only tightened at the very end. Even 2 weeks before the elections, ABC/WASHINGTON POST had Hilary Clinton winning by a massive 12 points.
It is sad people here still believe any poll. Comparing to 2016 and the frenzied here ‘oh nose we lost’. Thanks for playing into the rats plan, put out fake polls (more fake this year because they are losing by more) and watch the hysteria - spreading the we gonna lose message to all they can cry to. Then the people who were going to donate $ don’t, why waist $ on a lost cause they say. SAD

In my part of Florida, Biden signs outnumber Trump signs.
My county is normally evenly divided by party.
