Trump was a bit too combative, but that had a lot to do with his passion. He felt strongly about the issues. It didn’t help that he was being goaded by Wallace.
Biden came across as focused and articulate, albeit detached. He was dreadfully naive about Antifa, as well as law and order.
None of this changes my vote, but in all I found the debate painful.
Wallace wins hands down.

No, he was just being himself. If Trump agreed to let Wallace moderate because he thought Wallace would be fair and balanced, then Trump should be ashamed of himself

I think biden is a sick man with dementia... they have meds for such as tonight... to make them more aware... but it does not take away the dementia...and all the lies are more so with this sickness... biden had free reign to lie and lie.. and the public would not realize the lies were from a sick head...
This debate reinforces the-disgust-for-the-press with people who have watched Trump try to have a simple WH press conference, and is viciously attacked by want-a-be journalists. The burden of civility is on the press, not Trump.
Trump maneuvered Biden to the right which undoubtedly alienated or at least discouraged the far left.
Let Trump be Trump. I watched the first 20 minutes but shut it off. Why? Because there is nothing that could have happened to make me change my mind. Maybe the next debate will go more smoothly but whatever happens, I’m not changing my position. TRUMP 2020!
I thought Trump did well drawing out Biden’s emotional immaturity, intellectual shortcoming and lack of vision.
Biden was studying his answer for the next questions he had in advance. He also seemed to get a “rush” twice during the debate where he visibly tensed for a couple of seconds and I wondered was he getting timed auto injections thru a catheter.
Biden lied a lot.
My Summary:
Trump won, but Biden did better than just about anyone expected, so the media will give the win to Biden.
And other than two questions that Wallace made that were somewhat critical of Biden , it was two against one, Biden AND Wallace against Trump.
Every time Biden started to get flustered, Wallace attacked Trump.
I wish Trump’s earlier attacks to fluster Biden had worked, but they must have had some really good drugs in him to keep him mostly competent for an hour and a half. So he (Trump) came off looking kind of bad in that respect. If it had worked, we’d be calling him a genius. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work, so that made Trump look boorish to the average intellect that didn’t grasp what he was trying.
It was obvious a few times that Biden DID have the questions in advance, (despite Wallace’s promise to the contrary at the start).
I doubt very seriously that anyone’s minds were changed by this. Biden lied constantly, but it will be accepted by the hoi polloi as truth, even when Trump did call him on it.
Really pretty much a waste of time watching this. Nothing new came out to those of us who have been paying attention.
Biden had the script. He was referring to it constantly.
He may have had an ear device because he had moments where he looked straight ahead and tried to concentrate on what the coach was telling him.
Biden was sure of himself because Wallace was on his side.
There will be a lot of Pearl clutchers and weak kneed sisters on this thread,

My point is, Trump agreed to Wallace - a partisan biased Democrat/lib. If Trump thought Wallace would come as somebody he is not - if Trump thought Wallace would suddenly be fair and balanced for the first time in his career - then the more fool Trump.
Some people love Trump because he is a fighter, while some find that approach undignified. The Democrats try to disarm people with a soft and friendly appearance, but they are ruthless and relentless behind the scenes. In short, it takes a fighter to effectively challenge them, however unsavory it seems.
