The thought of Civil War has been in the minds of many people lately, on both sides of the political and cultural divide. This is not a thing to be wished for, though no one should kid themselves into believing it’s impossible either. Let us take a sober look at what such a conflict might entail.
To begin with, it would not look like the first American Civil War, which was essentially a war between two regions of the country with different economic interests. The divide created two separate countries, both initially contiguous, intact, and relatively homogeneous. The lines of demarcation now are only somewhat regional, and tend to correspond to differences between urban and rural populations, as well as differences of race and class. A second American Civil War would be much more similar to the Spanish Civil War, with the leftists dominating the cities and conservatives controlling the countryside. Conflicts of this nature, with enemies mixed geographically, are a formula for spontaneous mass bloodletting. India-Pakistan during the 1947 partition comes to mind as another modern example. Given an absence of legitimate government and the friction of proximity, ordinary people can be moved to settle grievances by killing one another without the need for governments to egg them on.
Some dimensions of a future civil war would be, I think, largely unprecedented. When lesser countries have imploded in violence in recent times, they have done so with most of the world around them still intact. There were other nations to offer aid, assistance and intervention, welcome or unwelcome. There were places for refugees to go. The collapse of the world’s remaining superpower would take much of the world down with it. A global economic crisis would be inevitable.

The other day I had a similar concern...estimated about 8 million people would die out of the total population.
It is horrible we are actually considering such a reality, but we all feel it is coming. And will arrive much sooner than we realize.
Civil war looks exactly like it looks right now, folks. Riots, or more properly purposeful and planned military operations, disguised as protests, political killings disguised as murders, government arrests of people who defend themselves from democrat paramilitary forces, lack of government prosecution of ‘friendly paramilitary, democrat forces’, endless information warfare from all directions and from all types of people telling you constant lies and misinformation, states, counties and cities creating thousands of ‘laws’ meant to only target the enemies of the party in power in that locality (i.e. Lawfare) and I am sure I could come up with a hundred more details.
We are in a civil war now, folks and this is what it looks like.

It will not be the hot war tgat wins the day Conservatives have all the weapons and training (”a fun day at the range” is not a phrase you will hear in a liberal household).
But when the libs take refuge into the hearts of the city centers, they will soon starve as they do not know how to raise food.
The problems will be in the suburbs where Conservatives will probably end up in enclaves.
Watched an interview with an ex-marine recently. He basically said that people like him wouldn’t be in the initial fighting, they’d wait for the first wave, then get involved. Anyone actively shooting at that point would be put down, because they would still be defending the country - not choosing sides.
I tend to think he’s right. I also tend to think I’ll be defending me and mine before I’m assaulting an urban center.
The ending of the article was correct though. No matter how you slice it, war is hell. Everyone would lose.
It would be ugly and asymmetrical, and many thousands of innocent folks will die.

You don’t think they have guns, and weapons? You don’t think they will get guns and weapons? You don’t think they will learn to use them.
You under estimate them big time. They are extremely dangerous people and you should have guard up.
If the United States descends into a hot Civil War, the whole world will burn. And it will deserve to.
That brings to mind Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha.
Of all the people involved in that situation, only Kyle was charged by the DA.
One thing he didn’t take into consideration - because it didn’t exist and nobody could have dreamed of it - is the newly acquired, massive power of leftist regional governments (states, municipalities, etc.) to officially shut down society and all opposition.
We’ve let them get this power, the courts generally have not permitted challenges to it, and we are so locked down already that it would be impossible for two “sides” to emerge. We’ve already let them control our interstate and international travel, and freedom of movement and association in general, to a degree probably not seen outside of Communist China. Sadly, this is worldwide, where the left has converted places like England and Australia into virtual prison camps and kept people from communicating.
I read that in Scotland, people are going to be forbidden to visit each other in their homes. In England, travel outside of the home and gatherings of more than six people is forbidden. Masks (gags) are required everywhere. And these things are enforced by the police, the military and, of course, by the stasi populace.
So perhaps before the civil war, it will be necessary to have a revolt.
Martial law would be declared and the country would be wrapped up quickly before any of that came to fruition. Regulated traffic on highways, rioters shot on sight, etc.
