If she holds off, the Left will then have an incentive to replace her with a Democrat in order to oppose a Trump nominee. That is, it will energize turnout against her. If she votes, there won't be that incentive other than maybe retribution.

Recess, if possible, is the way to go. Trump can claim we need full bench to deal with all the kaos brewing with the election this year. That way he has a friendly SC to help navigate this coming election disaster.
Appointing a judge now actually DEFUSES the situation, like removing negotiation points for Middle East peace deals. Can’t get motivated to vote for the court pick if it is already filled.
