Justice Ginsberg died on Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) at the beginning of the Sabbath.
Seems the most fitting thing for us to do at this time is to pray this prayer from the Jewish tradition—a prayer which I as an Orthodox Christian have absolutely no qualms about praying. In fact many of its phrases appear in the final prayers of the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom!
I think the confirmation battle should be untertaken AFTER the election for two reasons.
1. The confirmation of a conservative justice could encourage GOP complacency in the election. So let’s see if the GOP has what it takes to win this election by putting off the nomination and confirmation until the lame duck session, where it can be done efficiently in case the election flips either the Senate or the White House or both.
2. The confirmation of a conservative justice before the election could ensure that billions of screaming Biden voters — a slight exaggeration — could turn out to flip both the WH and the Senate. This is something that WE. DO. NOT. WANT. TO. HAPPEN.

Another reason to wait until after the election to consider a justice: if these folks vote to confirm a conservative beforehane, they’re toast!

Anyone on here who thinks for one second they are going to pick a new justice before 2021 needs to go to their shrink and have their head examined.
SERIOUSLY. You are that insane if you think that is even a REMOTE possibility. Does it mean I would not WANT it to happen? Nope - I would LOVE for it to happen.
But it's not...and saying so makes me a realist (which apparently a lot of people here are not).
