I cannot think of a better way for Republicans to lose the Senate.
It would be political death for Republicans that are not on board, especially if they are up for re-election this year.

They should have used an ‘off the shelf’ battery pack for a quick replacement, the Proprietary pack wouldn’t last until a new President was inaugurated. But they didn’t listen.
